A Modular Analysis Framework for Blood Genomics Studies: Application to Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Damien Chaussabel,Charles T. Quinn,Jing Shen,Pinakeen Patel,Casey Glaser,Nicole Baldwin,Dorothee Stichweh,Derek Blankenship,Lei Li,Indira Munagala,Lynda Bennett,Florence Allantaz,Asuncion Mejias,Monica I. Ardura,Ellen Kaizer,Laurence Monnet,Windy Allman,Henry B. Randall,Diane Johnson,Aimee Lanier,Marilynn Punaro,Knut M. Wittkowski,Perrin C. White,Joseph W. Fay,Goran B. Klintmalm,Octavio Ramilo,A. Karolina Palucka,Jacques Banchereau,Virginia Pascual +28 more
TL;DR: This work designed a strategy for microarray analysis that is based on the identification of transcriptional modules formed by genes coordinately expressed in multiple disease data sets that provide a stable framework for the visualization and functional interpretation of microarray data.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gene expression patterns in blood leukocytes discriminate patients with acute infections
Octavio Ramilo,Octavio Ramilo,Windy Allman,Wendy K. Chung,Wendy K. Chung,Asuncion Mejias,Asuncion Mejias,Monica Ardura,Monica Ardura,Casey Glaser,Knut M. Wittkowski,Bernard Piqueras,Jacques Banchereau,A. Karolina Palucka,Damien Chaussabel +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, gene expression profiles were obtained for 131 peripheral blood samples from pediatric patients with acute infections caused by influenza A virus, Gram-negative (Escherichia coli) or Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae) bacteria.
Journal ArticleDOI
CD2 Distinguishes Two Subsets of Human Plasmacytoid Dendritic Cells with Distinct Phenotype and Functions
Toshimichi Matsui,John E. Connolly,Mark A. Michnevitz,Damien Chaussabel,Chun I. Yu,Casey Glaser,Sasha Tindle,Marc Pypaert,Heidi Freitas,Bernard Piqueras,Jacques Banchereau,A. Karolina Palucka +11 more
TL;DR: It is shown that activated human pDCs inhibit replication of cancer cells and kill them in a contact-dependent fashion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enhanced Monocyte Response and Decreased Central Memory T Cells in Children with Invasive Staphylococcus aureus Infections
Monica I. Ardura,Romain Banchereau,Romain Banchereau,Asuncion Mejias,Asuncion Mejias,Asuncion Mejias,Tiziana Di Pucchio,Casey Glaser,Florence Allantaz,Virginia Pascual,Jacques Banchereau,Damien Chaussabel,Octavio Ramilo,Octavio Ramilo,Octavio Ramilo +14 more
TL;DR: It is reported that peripheral blood mononuclear cells from patients with severe S. aureus infections demonstrate a distinctive and robust gene expression profile which is validated in a distinct group of patients and on a different microarray platform.
Journal ArticleDOI
Both Langerhans cells and interstitial DC cross-present melanoma antigens and efficiently activate antigen-specific CTL.
TL;DR: This study provides the rationale to use CD34‐DC loaded with necrotic/apoptotic allogeneic melanoma cells in a clinical trial and shows that two major myeloid DC subsets, i.e. Langerhans cells (LC) and interstitial DC (Int‐DC), have the ability to cross‐present antigens to CD8+ T cells in vitro.
