High-performance hybrid silicon and lithium niobate Mach–Zehnder modulators for 100 Gbit s −1 and beyond
Mingbo He,Mengyue Xu,Yuxuan Ren,Jian Jian,Ziliang Ruan,Yongsheng Xu,Shengqian Gao,Shihao Sun,Xueqin Wen,Lidan Zhou,Lin Liu,Changjian Guo,Hui Chen,Siyuan Yu,Liu Liu,Xinlun Cai +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrate a Mach-Zehnder modulator with high linearity, high bandwidth, and low manufacturing cost on a silicon and lithium niobate hybrid integration platform.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Field trial of Machine-Learning-assisted and SDN-based Optical Network Planning with Network-Scale Monitoring Database
Shuangyi Yan,Faisal Nadeem Khan,Alex Mavromatis,Dimitrios Gkounis,Qirui Fan,Foteini Ntavou,K. Nikolovgenis,Fanchao Meng,Emilio Hugues Salas,Changjian Guo,Chao Lu,Alan Pak Tao Lau,Reza Nejabati,Dimitra Simeonidou +13 more
TL;DR: An SDN based network planning framework utilizing machine-learning techniques and a network-scale monitoring database is implemented over an optical field-trial testbed comprised of 436.4km fibre to demonstrate the spectral efficiency utilising probabilistic-shaping BVT based on link performance prediction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stokes space modulation format classification based on non-iterative clustering algorithm for coherent optical receivers.
TL;DR: Simulation results show that good classification performance can be achieved using the proposed MFC scheme with moderate time complexity, and proof-of-concept experiments are finally implemented to demonstrate MFC among PM-QPSK/16QAM/64QAM signals, which confirm the feasibility of the scheme.
Journal ArticleDOI
Algorithms for Blind Separation and Estimation of Transmitter and Receiver IQ Imbalances
TL;DR: The proposed scheme can isolate and separately estimate Tx and Rx phase and amplitude imbalances, applicable to high-order multi-modulus signals, and hence, is a great physical-layer-monitoring tool for network disaggregation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nonlinearity-aware 200 Gbit/s DMT transmission for C-band short-reach optical interconnects with a single packaged electro-absorption modulated laser
Lu Zhang,Xuezhi Hong,Xiaodan Pang,Oskars Ozolins,Aleksejs Udalcovs,Richard Schatz,Changjian Guo,Junwei Zhang,Fredrik Nordwall,Klaus M. Engenhardt,Urban Westergren,Sergei Popov,Gunnar Jacobsen,Shilin Xiao,Weisheng Hu,Jiajia Chen +15 more
TL;DR: The nonlinearity-aware digital signal processing algorithm for channel equalization is mathematically described, which improves the signal-to-noise ratio up to 3.5 dB.
