TL;DR: With the help of the advantage of deep learning in modeling different types of data, deep recommender systems can better understand users’ demand to further improve quality of recommendation.
Abstract: The advancement in technology accelerated and opened availability of various alternatives to make a choice in every domain. In the era of big data it is a tedious and time consuming task to evaluate the features of a large amount of information provided to make a choice. One solution to ease this overload problem is building recommender system that can process a large amount of data and support users’ decision making ability. In this paper different traditional recommendation techniques, deep learning approaches for recommender system and survey of deep learning techniques on recommender system are presented. A variety of techniques have been proposed to perform recommendation, including content based, collaborative and hybrid recommenders. Due to the limitation of the traditional recommendation methods in obtaining accurate result a deep learning approach is introduced both for collaborative and content based approaches that will enable the model to learn different features of users and items automatically to improve accuracy of recommendation. Even though deep learning poses a great impact in various areas, applying the model to a recommender systems have not been fully exploited. With the help of the advantage of deep learning in modeling different types of data, deep recommender systems can better understand users’ demand to further improve quality of recommendation.

TL;DR: This paper proposes specific approach of re-ranking user search results based on a dynamic and hybrid modeling of user profile that takes into account the user interets identified during his browsing session and the history of his search on the web.
Abstract: The volume of data on the web grew in recent years. Then it becomes increasingly difficult for a user to access the right information in a short time. However, several works have been carried out with the aim of proposing algorithms to re-rank the user’s search results on the web by taking into account their profile. In this paper, we propose specific approach of re-ranking user search results based on a dynamic and hybrid modeling of user profile. Our approach takes into account the user interets identified during his browsing session and the history of his search on the web. We use a multi agent system to collect both explicitly and implicitly user data and to process this data to detect the user interets represented as ontological concepts. The experimentation of our model shows that it is able to re-rank user search results with a high accuracy than that given by the google search engine.

TL;DR: Fair-trade sustainable hatcheries as mentioned in this paper are designed for developing and emerging countries, such as Cameroon and Indonesia respectively, so that they can use their oftengenerous sunshine at the service of harmonious development.
Abstract: Fair-trade sustainable hatcheries are designed for developing and emerging countries, such as Cameroon and Indonesia respectively so that they can use their often-generous sunshine at the service of harmonious development. These hatcheries are sustainable by their functioning exclusively from solar irradiation and nocturnal radiative emission. They are fair-trade because of their simplicity which allows them to be manufactured by many local professionals. They are developed so that the compensation in thermal losses is ensured by thermosiphon heat transfer loops thermo-regulated by bimetallic strip. These hatcheries are also designed for tropical or equatorial climatic hazards due to fine modeling of physical phenomena which can also be implemented by using a simple computer. An excellent economic return is expected.

TL;DR: A comprehensive review of recent research efforts on deep learning-based recommender systems is provided in this paper, along with a comprehensive summary of the state-of-the-art.
Abstract: With the growing volume of online information, recommender systems have been an effective strategy to overcome information overload. The utility of recommender systems cannot be overstated, given their widespread adoption in many web applications, along with their potential impact to ameliorate many problems related to over-choice. In recent years, deep learning has garnered considerable interest in many research fields such as computer vision and natural language processing, owing not only to stellar performance but also to the attractive property of learning feature representations from scratch. The influence of deep learning is also pervasive, recently demonstrating its effectiveness when applied to information retrieval and recommender systems research. The field of deep learning in recommender system is flourishing. This article aims to provide a comprehensive review of recent research efforts on deep learning-based recommender systems. More concretely, we provide and devise a taxonomy of deep learning-based recommendation models, along with a comprehensive summary of the state of the art. Finally, we expand on current trends and provide new perspectives pertaining to this new and exciting development of the field.

TL;DR: The thrust of this review is to outline emerging applications of DL and provide a reference to researchers seeking to use DL in their work for pattern recognition with unparalleled learning capacity and the ability to scale with data.
Abstract: Deep learning (DL) has solved a problem that a few years ago was thought to be intractable — the automatic recognition of patterns in spatial and temporal data with an accuracy superior to that of humans. It has solved problems beyond the realm of traditional, hand-crafted machine learning algorithms and captured the imagination of practitioners who are inundated with all types of data. As public awareness of the efficacy of DL increases so does the desire to make use of it. But even for highly trained professionals it can be daunting to approach the rapidly increasing body of knowledge in the field. Where does one start? How does one determine if a particular DL model is applicable to their problem? How does one train and deploy them? With these questions in mind, we present an overview of some of the key DL architectures. We also discuss some new automatic architecture optimization protocols that use multi-agent approaches. Further, since guaranteeing system uptime is critical to many applications, a section dwells on using DL for fault detection and mitigation. This is followed by an exploratory survey of several areas where DL emerged as a game-changer: fraud detection in financial applications, financial time-series forecasting, predictive and prescriptive analytics, medical image processing, power systems research and recommender systems. The thrust of this review is to outline emerging applications of DL and provide a reference to researchers seeking to use DL in their work for pattern recognition with unparalleled learning capacity and the ability to scale with data.

TL;DR: This paper is the first SLR specifically on the deep learning based RS to summarize and analyze the existing studies based on the best quality research publications and indicated that autoencoder models are the most widely exploited deep learning architectures for RS followed by the Convolutional Neural Networks and the Recurrent Neural Networks.
Abstract: These days, many recommender systems (RS) are utilized for solving information overload problem in areas such as e-commerce, entertainment, and social media. Although classical methods of RS have achieved remarkable successes in providing item recommendations, they still suffer from many issues such as cold start and data sparsity. With the recent achievements of deep learning in various applications such as Natural Language Processing (NLP) and image processing, more efforts have been made by the researchers to exploit deep learning methods for improving the performance of RS. However, despite the several research works on deep learning based RS, very few secondary studies were conducted in the field. Therefore, this study aims to provide a systematic literature review (SLR) of deep learning based RSs that can guide researchers and practitioners to better understand the new trends and challenges in the field. This paper is the first SLR specifically on the deep learning based RS to summarize and analyze the existing studies based on the best quality research publications. The paper particularly adopts an SLR approach based on the standard guidelines of the SLR designed by Kitchemen-ham which uses selection method and provides detail analysis of the research publications. Several publications were gathered and after inclusion/exclusion criteria and the quality assessment, the selected papers were finally used for the review. The results of the review indicated that autoencoder (AE) models are the most widely exploited deep learning architectures for RS followed by the Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and the Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) models. Also, the results showed that Movie Lenses is the most popularly used datasets for the deep learning-based RS evaluation followed by the Amazon review datasets. Based on the results, the movie and e-commerce have been indicated as the most common domains for RS and that precision and Root Mean Squared Error are the most commonly used metrics for evaluating the performance of the deep leaning based RSs.
