Multiuser OFDM with adaptive subcarrier, bit, and power allocation
TL;DR: The results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms multiuser OFDM systems with static time-division multiple access (TDMA) or frequency-divisionmultiple access (FDMA) techniques which employ fixed and predetermined time-slot or subcarrier allocation schemes.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
A real-time sub-carrier allocation scheme for multiple access downlink OFDM transmission
TL;DR: To deal with the frequently changing channel characteristic of a fast time-varying multipath fading channel, a heuristic algorithm based on constructive assignment and iterative improvement is proposed which can give out a valid solution in real time.

Wlan access point with extended coverage area
Meixia Tao,Cheong Yui Wong,Yan Wang,Kin Nang Lau,Ross D. Murch,Soung Chang Liew,Douglas R. George +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present systems and methods which provide high bandwidth data communication with respect to a large coverage area using smart antenna and/or directional antenna (referred to herein as multi-beam antenna) technology.
Patent
Systems and methods for efficient hand-off in wireless networks
Yan Wang,Cheong Yui Wong,Jingyi He,Piu Bill Wong,J. D. Qu,Soung Chang Liew,Vincent K. N. Lau,Paul Ho,Gary Jiang +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, neighbor report and its elements are updated by sending a null packet to improve the performance of the handoff in a wireless network, in addition to more convention information about neighboring access point, search thresholds, target beacon transmission time of neighboring access points, and execution thresholds.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Multiuser subcarrier allocation for OFDM transmission using adaptive modulation
TL;DR: An algorithm which minimizes the total transmit power by assigning, to each user, a set of subcarriers within an OFDM symbol and by determining the number of bits to be transmitted and the power level used is proposed.
