Chemisorption of Anionic Species from the Electrolyte Alters the Surface Electronic Structure and Composition of Photocharged BiVO4

TL;DR: In this article, the surface electronic structure of photocharged metal oxide photoanodes was studied using X-ray Raman scattering (XRS) spectroscopy. And the results revealed that a surface layer formed during photocharging creates a heterojunction with BiVO4, leading to favorable band bending and strongly reduced surface recombination.
Journal ArticleDOI

Full-Potential Simulation of X-ray Raman Scattering Spectroscopy

TL;DR: This work presents a new ab initio way to calculate X-ray Raman scattering spectra within the independent electron approximation and shows that the momentum transfer dependence in two typical cases, the F K-edge in LiF and the B and N K-edges in hexagonal BN, is well-reproduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

What Makes Fe-Modified MgAl2O4 an Active Catalyst Support? Insight from X-ray Raman Scattering

TL;DR: In this article, Fe-modified MgAl2O4 makes a surprisingly active catalyst support, likely linked to the structural effect of the Fe incorporation, and two catalyst supports have been studied in fre...
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural and electronic changes in graphite fluorides as a function of fluorination rate: An XRS, PDF and DFT study

TL;DR: In this paper, graphite fluoride compounds with various degrees of fluorination were systematically investigated using X-ray Raman Spectroscopy (XRS) and Xray and neutron diffraction by means of Pair Distribution Function (PDF) analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Multitechnique Study of Fluorinated Nanodiamonds for Low-Energy Neutron Physics Applications

TL;DR: In this article, data of quasi-specular reflection of cold neutrons, prompt-γ neutron analysis, X-ray Raman scattering (XRS) and neutron Pair distribution function (PDF) analysis with powder of detonation nanodiamonds are analyzed to collect their structural properties and chemical composition.
