Isolation and Characterization of Tumorigenic, Stem-like Neural Precursors from Human Glioblastoma
Rossella Galli,Elena Binda,Ugo Orfanelli,Barbara Cipelletti,Angela Gritti,Simona De Vitis,Roberta Fiocco,Chiara Foroni,Francesco DiMeco,Angelo L. Vescovi +9 more
TL;DR: It is reported that, unlike other brain cancers, the lethal glioblastoma multiforme contains neural precursors endowed with all of the critical features expected from neural stem cells.
Journal Article
Erratum: Isolation and characterization of tumorigenic, stem-like neural precursors from human glioblastoma (Cancer Research (October 2004) 64 (7011-7021)
Rossella Galli,Elena Binda,U. Orfanelli,Barbara Cipelletti,Angela Gritti,S. De Vitis,Roberta Fiocco,Chiara Foroni,Francesco DiMeco,Angelo L. Vescovi +9 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Resilience to Transformation and Inherent Genetic and Functional Stability of Adult Neural Stem Cells Ex vivo
Chiara Foroni,Rossella Galli,Barbara Cipelletti,Andrea Caumo,Sara Alberti,Roberta Fiocco,Angelo L. Vescovi +6 more
TL;DR: It is reported the first demonstration that ANSCs can be propagated in vitro for over a year, maintaining a strikingly stable profile with regard to self-renewal, differentiation, growth factor dependence, karyotype, and molecular profiling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Defining a Developmental Path to Neural Fate by Global Expression Profiling of Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells and Adult Neural Stem/Progenitor Cells
Kazuhiro Aiba,Alexei A. Sharov,Mark G. Carter,Chiara Foroni,Angelo L. Vescovi,Minoru S.H. Ko +5 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that this principal component (PC) defines a path to neural fate, providing a scale for the degree of commitment/differentiation in embryonic stem cells and adult neural stem/progenitor cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Embryonic Stem–Derived Versus Somatic Neural Stem Cells: A Comparative Analysis of Their Developmental Potential and Molecular Phenotype
Elena Colombo,Serena Giannelli,Rossella Galli,Enrico Tagliafico,Chiara Foroni,Elena Tenedini,Sergio Ferrari,Stefano Ferrari,Giorgio Corte,Angelo L. Vescovi,Giulio Cossu,Vania Broccoli +11 more
TL;DR: Evidence is provided that ES‐derived neural proliferating cells are endowed with stem cell properties such as extensive self‐renewal capacity and single‐cell multipotency and an enhanced MAPK (mitogen‐activated protein kinase) signaling is acting in ES‐induced NSCs, probably triggered by insulin‐like growth factor–II.
