Utilization of renewable hybrid energy for refueling station in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia

Voltage collapse, blackout and voltage instability are considered main problems faced by the power systems which are due to the lack of reactive power in the system. One of the most important sources for injecting reactive power to the system is the flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) devices.
Thyristor-controlled series capacitor (TCSC) is one of the modern FACTS devices that can be used for reducing the overloading in line flow, allowing power system to operate in secure state and improving power system stability. In this paper, optimal steady-state load shedding and TCSC allocation in power system problems are comprehensively solved using a new robust and effective technique, called moth swarm algorithm. This algorithm is based on the moth’s orientation toward moonlight considering a new adaptive crossover and Levy flight mutation. Optimal load shedding and TCSC allocation are achieved simultaneously to remove or mitigate congestion and emergency situations. To prove the capability of the proposed algorithm for minimizing the amount of load shedding and active power loss, improving voltage profile and voltage stability, standard IEEE 30-bus test system is used under normal and contingency operations at different single- and multiobjective functions. The results obtained by the proposed algorithm are compared with those obtained by other well-known optimization techniques: TLBO, PSO, GWO, WOA, MFO. These results demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed algorithm.

Optimal Load Shedding of Power System Including Optimal TCSC Allocation Using Moth Swarm Algorithm

KTP is a proof of identification issued by the implementing agency that applies throughout the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. The existence of KTP is recognized as very important in daily life because it is used in all activities or any series of administrative transactions. Field studies found the number of cases of Asphalt ID cards (original but fake) used as a means of media fraud. Because ID cards are very easy to falsify this makes it difficult to identify cases of data misappropriation. The focus of the research was the utilization of Blockchain, by applying distributed consensus and cryptography in improving the administration management system of KTP to identify the existence of fake IDs and double data. The research method used is descriptive analysis method and literature study. By implementing the decentralization and cryptographic system owned by Blockchain, it is expected to minimize the occurrence of identity misappropriation, as well as be able to be a technology capable of contributing to the success of aspects of state administration governance systems.

Utilization of Blockchain Technology Revolution in Electronic ID Card Data Integrity

One of the household appliances which consumes quite a large amount of electricity is a water pumping machine. Almost every house that uses well water, uses a water pumping machine to suck water from the ground into a temporary water reservoir (water reservoir). To reduce the electricity load in meeting the needs of water distribution for household scale, can be done by making a water pump system that is equipped with a Solar Panel (PV). Solar panels or PV that are used in this research have a capacity of 100 WP consisting of 2 pieces of 50 WP PV arranged in parallel. The type of PV used is monocrystal with SHINYOKU brand. The testing is done by measuring the output capacity of a water pump and compare it with the power needed by the water pump. In the calculation of water discharge, the water pump is able to pump water with a volume of 8.5 liters / minute. The water pump power was measured using a watt meter, the power needed by the water pump is 223 watt/hour. The duration of time needed to fully fill a 1000 liter water reservoir is 2 hours or 119 minutes consumes 450 watt. If calculated for 1 month (30 days), using a solar water pump system could reduce power consumptions up to 13500 w or 13.5 Kw. Keywords : Water Pump, Solar Panel (PV), Power, Output Capasity. Abstrak Salah satu peralatan rumah tangga yang mengkonsumsi daya listrik cukup besar adalah mesin pompa air. Hampir setiap rumah yang memanfaatkan air sumur, menggunakan mesin pompa air untuk menyedot air dari dalam tanah ke dalam bak penampungan air sementara (tandon air). Untuk mengurangi beban listrik dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan distribusi air untuk skala rumah tangga, dapat dilakukan dengan membuat sistem pompa air yang dilengkapi dengan Panel Surya (PV). Panel surya atau PV yang digunakan pada riset ini mempunyai kapasitas 100 WP yang terdiri dari 2 buah PV 50 WP dirangkai secara pararel. PV yang digunakan berjenis monocrystal dengan merek SHINYOKU. Pengujian dilakukan dengan mengukur debit air pompa air dan membandingkannya dengan daya yang dibutuhkan oleh pompa air tersebut. Dalam perhitungan debit air, pompa air mampu mengalirkan air dengan volume 8,5 liter/menit. Daya pompa air diukur dengan menggunakan watt meter, daya yang dibutuhkan oleh pompa air tersebut sebesar 223 watt/hour. Durasi waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk mengisi penuh tandon air berukuran 1000 liter yaitu selama 2 jam atau 119 menit dengan mengkonsumsi 450 watt. Apabila dikalkulasikan selama 1 bulan (30 hari), dengan mamnfaatkan sistem pompa air tenaga surya dapat mengurangi konsumsi daya hingga 13500 watt atau 13,5Kw. Perancangan Mesin Pompa Air Tenaga Surya untuk Mengurangi Konsumsi Listrik Skala Rumahan

Electrical energy is the key to the development of human civilization, it causes an increase in electricity production using fossil fuels. This causes the emergence of the need for electricity generation with renewable energy sources. This research discusses the improvement of efficiency in photovoltaic cells (PV) by using the floating method and also the cooling method, especially, passive heatsink cooling. Tests carried out measures the performance of PV panels by measuring the influence of floating and cooling methods. The data shows that the increase in power is 30.54% with floating method while using passive heatsink cooling only increase power output by 14.31%. The temperature in the PV panel tends to increase with increasing intensity of solar radiation. In addition, both methods resulted in increase of the PV panel temperature by 6.42% and 0.60% for floating method and passive heatsink cooling respectively.

Besides that, it can also be used as a means of health socialization for the community in public places. The elliptical trainer type air walker is a popular fitness tool because it is easy to use and has a small risk of injury. Elliptical trainer has a working principle like a walking person where movement is influenced by the force of the hand and leg movements. The design of an elliptical trainer fitness equipment that will be placed in a public place needs to be done to get a good level of security. This article discusses the design of an elliptical trainer device that is safe to place outdoors. The design process uses the Solidworks 2017a application. The elliptical trainer is divided into 4 parts, namely the main frame, drive shaft, hand handle, and leg handle. The manufacturing process is carried out based on Design Manufacture and Assembly and machinery to reduce the risk of manufacturing failure and make it easier to work on. The result of the elliptical trainer design has dimensions of 2,500 x 1,800 x 1,000 mm. The main frame has a safety factor of 3 with a displacement of 8,524e-7 mm.

One technology to support production speed is electric motors with high performance, efficiency, dynamic speed and good speed responses. DC motors are one type of electric motor which is used in the industry. Sliding Mode Control (SMC) is the robust non-linear control. The basic theory regarding SMC is presented. The SMC design which is implemented is the speed control of the DC motor is analyzed. The controller is implemented in simulation using MATLAB / Simulink environment. The step response and signal tracking test unit are carried out. The results show that SMC has a better performance compare to PID which is faster settling time and no overshoot and undershoot.

This study aims to design a hybrid generator with the addition of floating PV technology, perform an economic analysis and calculate the value of the payback period. The scenario with PV and Wind Turbine composition with an NPC value of Rp, 32,372,170,000, COE value of Rp,1,224 / kWh and payback period of 18 years and 6 months.

Design and economic analysis of floating PV-wind turbine plant for renewable energy supply in Indonesia

Indonesia merupakan negara agraris dengan daerah pertanian yang cukup luas. Kesuburan tanah dan kebutuhan akan air menjadi prioritas utama. Untuk mendukung hal ini dibutuhkan sistem irigasi yang baik saat terjadi musim kemarau. Pengunaan diesel/pompa air dengan BBM untuk sistem irigasi pertanian sangatlah tidak efektif dan mahal. Sistem pompa air dengan tenaga surya merupakan salah satu alternatif solusi yang efektif, hemat, dan efisien untuk menjaga sistem irigasi pertanian berjalan dengan baik saat musim kemarau. Tujuan akan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan wawasan dan pengetahuan praktis akan pembuatan dan instalasi Sistem Pompa Air Tenga Surya (SPATS) serta memberikan inovasi baru berupa pemanfaatan energi terbarukan dalam membantu sistem irigasi pertanian. Dengan demikian diharapkan masyarakat mendapatkan manfaat berupa peningkatan produktivitas hasil pertanian dan membatu pemerintah dalam memwujudkan swasembada pangan nasional.
