Nusinersen in adults with 5q spinal muscular atrophy: a non-interventional, multicentre, observational cohort study
Tim Hagenacker,Claudia D. Wurster,René Günther,René Günther,Olivia Schreiber-Katz,Alma Osmanovic,Susanne Petri,Markus Weiler,Andreas Ziegler,Josua Kuttler,Jan C. Koch,Ilka Schneider,Gilbert Wunderlich,Natalie Schloss,Helmar C. Lehmann,Isabell Cordts,Marcus Deschauer,Paul Lingor,Christoph Kamm,Benjamin Stolte,Lena Pietruck,Andreas Totzeck,Kathrin Kizina,Christoph Mönninghoff,Otgonzul von Velsen,Claudia Ose,Heinz Reichmann,Michael Forsting,Astrid Pechmann,Janbernd Kirschner,Albert C. Ludolph,Albert C. Ludolph,Andreas Hermann,Andreas Hermann,Christoph Kleinschnitz +34 more
TL;DR: Despite the limitations of the observational study design and a slow functional decline throughout the natural disease course, the data provide evidence for the safety and efficacy of nusinersen in the treatment of adults with 5q spinal muscular atrophy, with clinically meaningful improvements in motor function in a real-world cohort.
Journal ArticleDOI
MRI at 7 tesla and above: Demonstrated and potential capabilities
TL;DR: This overview article focuses on already achieved advantages for in vivo imaging, i.e., in imaging the brain and joints of the musculoskeletal system, but also considers developments in body imaging, which is particularly challenging.
Journal ArticleDOI
Uninterrupted edoxaban vs. vitamin K antagonists for ablation of atrial fibrillation: the ELIMINATE-AF trial
Stefan H. Hohnloser,John Camm,Riccardo Cappato,Hans-Christoph Diener,Hein Heidbuchel,Lluís Mont,Carlos A. Morillo,Khalid Abozguia,Massimo Grimaldi,Heiko Rauer,Paul-Egbert Reimitz,Rüdiger Smolnik,Christoph Mönninghoff,Josef Kautzner +13 more
TL;DR: Uninterrupted edoxaban therapy represents an alternative to uninterrupted VKA treatment in patients undergoing AF ablation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Feasibility and safety of intrathecal treatment with nusinersen in adult patients with spinal muscular atrophy.
Benjamin Stolte,Andreas Totzeck,Kathrin Kizina,Saskia Bolz,Lena Pietruck,Christoph Mönninghoff,Nika Guberina,Denise Oldenburg,Michael Forsting,Christoph Kleinschnitz,Tim Hagenacker +10 more
TL;DR: The data demonstrate the feasibility and tolerability of intrathecal treatment with nusinersen in adults with SMA type 2 and type 3, however, treatment can be medically and logistically challenging, particularly in patients with S MA type 1 and in patientsWith spondylodesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endovascular treatment of cerebral vasospasm after subarachnoid hemorrhage: More is more.
Ramazan Jabbarli,Daniela Pierscianek,Roland Rölz,Marvin Darkwah Oppong,Klaus Kaier,Mukesch Shah,Christian Taschner,Christoph Mönninghoff,Horst Urbach,Jürgen Beck,Ulrich Sure,Michael Forsting +11 more
TL;DR: This study provides Class III evidence that for patients with SAH, a frequent and early EVT to treat vasospasm reduces the risk of DCI and improves functional outcome.
