Superconducting Interfaces Between Insulating Oxides

TL;DR: This work reports on superconductivity in the electron gas formed at the interface between two insulating dielectric perovskite oxides, LaAlO3 and SrTiO3.
Journal ArticleDOI

Coexistence of magnetic order and two-dimensional superconductivity at LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interfaces

TL;DR: The authors showed that Lanthanum aluminate and strontium titanate are insulators, but when they bring them together, the interface between them becomes a two-dimensional superconductor.
Journal ArticleDOI

Orbital reconstruction and the two-dimensional electron gas at the LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interface.

TL;DR: These results are based on extensive investigations of the electronic properties and of the orbital structure of the interface using x-ray absorption spectroscopy and find that the degeneracy of the Ti 3d states is fully removed and that theTi 3d xy levels become the first available states for conducting electrons.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interface superconductor with gap behaviour like a high-temperature superconductor

TL;DR: Tunnel spectroscopy with planar junctions is used to measure the behaviour of the electronic spectral density of states as a function of carrier density, implying that the smooth continuation of the superconducting gap into pseudogap-like behaviour could be a general property of 2D superconductivity.
