Journal ArticleDOI
Submucosal endoscopic esophageal myotomy: a novel experimental approach for the treatment of achalasia.
Pankaj J. Pasricha,Rami Hawari,Ijaz Ahmed,J. Chen,Peter B. Cotton,Robert H. Hawes,Anthony N. Kalloo,Sergey V. Kantsevoy,Christopher J. Gostout +8 more
TL;DR: Endoscopic submucosal esophageal myotomy is feasible, safe, and effective in the short term, and has the potential for being useful in patients with achalasia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endoscopic gastrojejunostomy with survival in a porcine model.
Sergey V. Kantsevoy,Sanjay B. Jagannath,Hideaki Niiyama,Sydney S.C. Chung,Peter B. Cotton,Christopher J. Gostout,Robert H. Hawes,Pankaj J. Pasricha,Carolyn A. Magee,Cheryl A. Vaughn,David E. Barlow,Hideki Shimonaka,Anthony N. Kalloo +12 more
TL;DR: The endoscopic transgastric approach to create a gastrojejunostomy is technically feasible and can be performed, with survival, in a porcine model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Peroral transgastric endoscopic ligation of fallopian tubes with long-term survival in a porcine model.
Sanjay Jagannath,SV Kantsevoy,Cheryl A. Vaughn,Sydney S.C. Chung,Peter B. Cotton,Christopher J. Gostout,Robert H. Hawes,Pankaj J. Pasricha,Diana G. Scorpio,Carolyn A. Magee,Laurie J. Pipitone,Anthony N. Kalloo +11 more
TL;DR: The peroral endoscopic transgastric approach to ligation of the Fallopian tubes with long-term survival is technically feasible and safe in a porcine model and has potential for a wide array of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Small-bowel imaging in Crohn's disease: a prospective, blinded, 4-way comparison trial
Craig A. Solem,Edward V. Loftus,Joel G. Fletcher,Todd H. Baron,Christopher J. Gostout,Bret T. Petersen,William J. Tremaine,Laurence J. Egan,William A. Faubion,Kenneth W. Schroeder,Darrell S. Pardi,Karen A. Hanson,Debra A. Jewell,John M. Barlow,Jeff L. Fidler,James E. Huprich,C. Daniel Johnson,W. Scott Harmsen,Alan R. Zinsmeister,William J. Sandborn +19 more
TL;DR: The sensitivity of CE for active small-bowel Crohn's disease was not significantly different from CTE, ileocolonoscopy, or SBFT, however, lower specificity and the need for preceding small-Bowel radiography may limit the utility of CE as a first-line test for Crohn't disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transgastric endoscopic splenectomy: is it possible?
Sergey V. Kantsevoy,B. Hu,Sanjay B. Jagannath,Cheryl A. Vaughn,D. M. Beitler,Sydney S.C. Chung,Peter B. Cotton,Christopher J. Gostout,Robert H. Hawes,Pankaj J. Pasricha,Carolyn A. Magee,Laurie J. Pipitone,Mark A. Talamini,Anthony N. Kalloo +13 more
TL;DR: Transgastric endoscopic splenectomy in a porcine model appears technically feasible and visualization of the spleen and other intraperitoneal organs was very good.
