Nanothermochromics with VO2-based core-shell structures: Calculated luminous and solar optical properties
TL;DR: Li et al. as discussed by the authors presented calculations based on effective medium theory applied to dilute suspensions of core-shell nanoparticles and demonstrated that moderately thin-walled hollow spherical VO2 nanoshells can give significantly higher values of ΔTsol than solid nanoparticles at the expense of a somewhat lowered Tlum.
Journal ArticleDOI
High quality transparent heat reflectors of reactively evaporated indium tin oxide
TL;DR: In this paper, a transparent and heat reflecting indium tin oxide films were prepared by electron beam evaporation of In2O3+9 mol.% SnO2 onto glass in an oxygen atmosphere of ∼5×10−4 Torr.
Journal ArticleDOI
Towards the smart window: progress in electrochromics
Claes-Göran Granqvist,Andris Azens,J. Isidorsson,M. Kharrazi,L. Kullman,T. Lindström,Gunnar A. Niklasson,Carl-Gustaf Ribbing,Daniel Rönnow,M. Strømme Mattsson,M. Veszelei +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors outline the various applications of such devices in smart windows suitable for energy-conscious architecture, in variable-reflectance mirrors, and in display devices, and discuss critical materials issues and design concepts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gas sensor response of pure and activated WO3 nanoparticle films made by advanced reactive gas deposition
TL;DR: In this article, pure and activated (doped) nanocrystalline WO 3 films, produced by advanced reactive gas deposition, were investigated for gas sensing applications, and the sensitivity was found to lie below and around the ppm level for H 2 S, CO, and NO 2, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spectroscopic ellipsometry characterization of electrochromic tungsten oxide and nickel oxide thin films made by sputter deposition
Iryna Valyukh,Sara Green,Hans Arwin,Gunnar A. Niklasson,Ewa Wäckelgård,Ewa Wäckelgård,Claes-Göran Granqvist +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, Tungsten oxide and nickel oxide were made by reactive dc magnetron sputtering and were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Rutherford backscattering spectrometry, scanning e...
