Abnormal retinal thickness in patients with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease
TL;DR: The results show that RNFL thickness is statistically reduced in patients with MCI, mild AD or moderate to severe AD compared to controls, and the RNFL seems to be involved early during the course of amnestic MCI and OCT tests could be carried out in Patients with cognitive troubles.
Journal ArticleDOI
APP, PSEN1, and PSEN2 mutations in early-onset Alzheimer disease: A genetic screening study of familial and sporadic cases
Hélène-Marie Lanoiselée,Gaël Nicolas,David Wallon,Anne Rovelet-Lecrux,Morgane Lacour,Stéphane Rousseau,Anne-Claire Richard,Florence Pasquier,Adeline Rollin-Sillaire,Olivier Martinaud,Muriel Quillard-Muraine,Vincent de la Sayette,Claire Boutoleau-Bretonnière,Frédérique Etcharry-Bouyx,Valérie Chauviré,Marie Sarazin,Isabelle Le Ber,Stéphane Epelbaum,Thérèse Rivasseau Jonveaux,Olivier Rouaud,Mathieu Ceccaldi,Olivier Felician,Olivier Godefroy,Maïté Formaglio,Bernard Croisile,Sophie Auriacombe,Ludivine Chamard,Jean Louis Vincent,Mathilde Sauvée,Cecilia Marelli-Tosi,Audrey Gabelle,Canan Ozsancak,Jérémie Pariente,Claire Paquet,Didier Hannequin,Dominique Campion +35 more
TL;DR: A novel update of the genetic screening of the large AD-EOAD series ascertained across 28 French hospitals from 1993 onwards is reported, suggesting that a nonnegligible fraction of PSEN1 mutations occurs de novo, which is of high importance for genetic counseling, asPSEN1 mutational screening is currently performed in familial cases only.
Journal ArticleDOI
High frequency of potentially pathogenic SORL1 mutations in autosomal dominant early-onset Alzheimer disease.
Cyril Pottier,Didier Hannequin,Sophie Coutant,Anne Rovelet-Lecrux,David Wallon,Stéphane Rousseau,Solenn Legallic,Claire Paquet,S. Bombois,Jérémie Pariente,Catherine Thomas-Antérion,A Michon,Bernard Croisile,Frédérique Etcharry-Bouyx,Claudine Berr,J. F. Dartigues,Philippe Amouyel,Hélène Dauchel,Claire Boutoleau-Bretonnière,Christel Thauvin,Thierry Frebourg,Jean-Charles Lambert,Dominique Campion +22 more
TL;DR: Exome sequencing in autosomal dominant early-onset Alzheimer disease (ADEOAD) index cases without mutation on known genes found that in five patients, the SORL1 gene harbored unknown nonsense or missense mutations, suggesting further genetic heterogeneity, involving another gene of the same pathway is present in ADEOAD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sebastiaan Engelborghs,Ellis Niemantsverdriet,Hanne Struyfs,Kaj Blennow,Raf Brouns,Manuel Comabella,Irena Dujmovic,Wiesje M. van der Flier,Lutz Frölich,Daniela Galimberti,Sharmilee Gnanapavan,Bernhard Hemmer,Erik Hoff,Jakub Hort,Ellen Iacobaeus,Martin Ingelsson,Frank Jan de Jong,Michael Jonsson,Michael Khalil,Jens Kuhle,Alberto Lleó,Alexandre de Mendonça,José Luis Molinuevo,Guy Nagels,Guy Nagels,Claire Paquet,Lucilla Parnetti,Gerwin Roks,Pedro Rosa-Neto,Philip Scheltens,Constance Skarsgard,Erik Stomrud,Hayrettin Tumani,Pieter Jelle Visser,Pieter Jelle Visser,Anders Wallin,Bengt Winblad,Henrik Zetterberg,Henrik Zetterberg,Flora H. Duits,Charlotte E. Teunissen +40 more
TL;DR: Cerebrospinal fluid collection by lumbar puncture is performed in the diagnostic workup of several neurological brain diseases due to a lack of standards and guidelines to minimize the risk of complications, such as post‐LP headache or back pain.
Journal ArticleDOI

Twisk,Staffan Persson,Henrik Zetterberg,Henrik Zetterberg,Wiesje M. van der Flier,Charlotte E. Teunissen,Philip Scheltens,Kaj Blennow +39 more
TL;DR: This work investigated patient‐acceptance of LP, incidence of and risk factors for post‐LP complications in memory clinic populations and found no significant differences in patient acceptance or incidence of post-LP complications.
