Journal ArticleDOI
Insulin-like growth factor I receptor primary structure: comparison with insulin receptor suggests structural determinants that define functional specificity.
Axel Ullrich,Alane M. Gray,A W Tam,T Yang-Feng,M Tsubokawa,Clare E. Collins,William J. Henzel,T Le Bon,S Kathuria,Ellson Y. Chen +9 more
TL;DR: The complete primary structure of the human IGF‐I receptor from cloned cDNA is determined and the deduced sequence predicts a 1367 amino acid receptor precursor, including a 30‐residue signal peptide, which is removed during translocation of the nascent polypeptide chain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Testing the iron hypothesis in ecosystems of the equatorial Pacific Ocean
John H. Martin,Kenneth H. Coale,Kenneth S. Johnson,Kenneth S. Johnson,Steve E. Fitzwater,R. M. Gordon,S. J. Tanner,Craig N. Hunter,Virginia A. Elrod,Jocelyn L. Nowicki,Teresa L. Coley,Richard T. TL;DR: Findings indicate that iron limitation can control rates of phytoplankton productivity and biomass in the ocean.
Journal ArticleDOI
The caregiver reaction assessment (CRA) for caregivers to persons with chronic physical and mental impairments
Charles W. Given,Barbara A. Given,Manfred Stommel,Clare E. Collins,Sharon King,Susan Franklin +5 more
TL;DR: The development and testing of a multidimensional instrument to assess the reactions of family members caring for elderly persons with physical impairments, Alzheimer's disease, and cancer is reported and appeared consistent with first order tests of construct validity.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Systematic Review of the Validity of Dietary Assessment Methods in Children when Compared with the Method of Doubly Labeled Water
TL;DR: It is suggested that the 24-hour multiple pass recall conducted over at least a 3-day period that includes weekdays and weekend days and uses parents as proxy reporters is the most accurate method to estimate total energy intake in children aged 4 to 11 years, compared to total energy expenditure measured by DLW.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effectiveness of Lifestyle Interventions in Child Obesity: Systematic Review With Meta-analysis
Mandy Ho,Sarah P. Garnett,Louise A. Baur,Tracy Burrows,Laura Stewart,Melinda Neve,Clare E. Collins +6 more
TL;DR: Lifestyle interventions can lead to improvements in weight and cardio-metabolic outcomes and further research is needed to determine the optimal length, intensity, and long-term effectiveness of lifestyle interventions.
