High-Speed Flight of Quadrotor Despite Loss of Single Rotor

TL;DR: In order to achieve high-speed flight of a damaged quadrotor with complete loss of a single rotor, a multiloop hybrid nonlinear controller is designed by fully making use of sensor measurements, which is conducive to handling disturbance from the unknown aerodynamic effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Incremental Nonlinear Fault-Tolerant Control of a Quadrotor With Complete Loss of Two Opposing Rotors

TL;DR: A nonlinear sensor-based fault-tolerant controller is designed to stabilize a quadrotor with failure of two opposing rotors in the high-speed flight condition (>8 m/s) in order to further expand the flight envelope of quadrotors under actuator failures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Autonomous Quadrotor Flight despite Rotor Failure with Onboard Vision Sensors: Frames vs. Events

TL;DR: This letter proposes the first algorithm that combines fault-tolerant control and onboard vision-based state estimation to achieve position control of a quadrotor subjected to complete failure of one rotor, and believes it will render autonomous quadrotors safer in both GPS denied or degraded environments.
