Obesity-susceptibility loci have a limited influence on birth weight: a meta-analysis of up to 28,219 individuals

TL;DR: Examining associations of 12 established BMI variants in or near the NEGR1, SEC16B, TMEM18, ETV5, GNPDA2, BDNF, MTCH2, BCDIN3D, SH2B1, FTO, MC4R, and KCTD15 genes and their additive score with birth weight found some evidence of an association was found for theMTCH2 and FTO loci.

Influence of hormonal and reproductive factors on the risk of vertebral deformity in European women

Journal ArticleDOI

Lean Mass, Muscle Strength and Gene Expression in Community Dwelling Older Men: Findings from the Hertfordshire Sarcopenia Study (HSS)

TL;DR: Lower expression of VDR and IFNG is associated with higher lean mass, and lower expression of IL-6, TNF, IL1R1 and myostatin is associatedwith higher grip strength, consistent with a role of proinflammatory factors in mediating lower muscle strength in community-dwelling older men.
