Mass-metallicity relation explored with CALIFA I. Is there a dependence on the star-formation rate?
Sebastián F. Sánchez,Sebastián F. Sánchez,F. F. Rosales-Ortega,Bruno Jungwiert,Jorge Iglesias-Páramo,José M. Vílchez,R. A. Marino,C. J. Walcher,Bernd Husemann,D. Mast,Ana Monreal-Ibero,R. Cid Fernandes,Enrique Pérez,R. M. González Delgado,Rubén García-Benito,Lluís Galbany,G. van de Ven,Knud Jahnke,H. Flores,Joss Bland-Hawthorn,Angel R. Lopez-Sanchez,Vallery Stanishev,D. Miralles-Caballero,Angeles I. Díaz,Patricia Sanchez-Blazquez,Mercedes Mollá,Anna Gallazzi,Polychronis Papaderos,J. M. Gomes,Nicolas Gruel,Isabel Pérez,T. Ruiz-Lara,Estrella Florido,A. de Lorenzo-Cáceres,Jairo Méndez-Abreu,Jairo Méndez-Abreu,C. Kehrig,Markus Roth,Bodo L. Ziegler,João Alves,Lutz Wisotzki,D. Kupko,Andreas Quirrenbach,Dominik J. Bomans +43 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors derived a tight relation between the integrated stellar mass and the gas-phase abundance, with a dispersion lower than the one already reported in the literature (σ_Δlog(O/H) = 0.07 dex).
Journal ArticleDOI
The evolution of galaxies resolved in space and time: a view of inside-out growth from the califa survey
Enrique Pérez,R. Cid Fernandes,R. Cid Fernandes,R. M. González Delgado,Rubén García-Benito,Sebastián F. Sánchez,Bernd Husemann,D. Mast,J. R. Rodón,D. Kupko,N. Backsmann,A. L. de Amorim,G. van de Ven,J. Walcher,Lutz Wisotzki,C. Cortijo-Ferrero +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors applied the fossil record method of stellar population spectral synthesis to recover the spatially and time resolved star formation history of each galaxy, and showed that the signal of downsizing is spatially preserved with both inner and outer regions growing faster for more massive galaxies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mendez-Abreu,C. Kehrig,Markus Roth,Bodo L. Ziegler,J. Alves,Lutz Wisotzki,D. Kupko,Andreas Quirrenbach,Dominik J. Bomans +41 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the results on the study of the global and local M-Z relation based on the first data available from the CALIFA survey (150 galaxies) and computed the integrated and spatially resolved stellar masses and surface densities, based on SDSS photometric data.
Journal ArticleDOI
The star formation history of CALIFA galaxies: Radial structures
R. M. González Delgado,Enrique Pérez,R. Cid Fernandes,R. Cid Fernandes,Rubén García-Benito,A. L. de Amorim,Sebastián F. Sánchez,Bernd Husemann,C. Cortijo-Ferrero,R. López Fernández,Patricia Sanchez-Blazquez,S. Bekeraite,C. J. Walcher,Jesús Falcón-Barroso,Jesús Falcón-Barroso,Anna Gallazzi,Anna Gallazzi,G. van de Ven,João Alves,Joss Bland-Hawthorn,Robert C. Kennicutt,D. Kupko,Mariya Lyubenova,D. Mast,Mercedes Mollá,R. A. Marino,Andreas Quirrenbach,José M. Vílchez,Lutz Wisotzki +28 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the radial structure of the stellar mass surface density and stellar population age as a function of the total stellar mass and morphology for a sample of 107 galaxies from the CALIFA survey.
