Journal ArticleDOI

Photocatalytic degradation of azo dye acid red 14 in water on ZnO as an alternative catalyst to TiO2

TL;DR: In this article, a detailed investigation of photocatalytic degradation of acid red 14 (AR14) was presented, and it was shown that zinc oxide appears to be a suitable alternative to TiO2 for water treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photocatalytic degradation of azo dye acid red 14 in water: investigation of the effect of operational parameters

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that acid red 14 (AR14) can be photocatalytically degraded using TiO 2 suspensions irradiated by a UV-C lamp (30 W).
Journal ArticleDOI

Chromium adsorption and Cr(VI) reduction to trivalent chromium in aqueous solutions by soya cake

TL;DR: A high efficiency for reduction of Cr(VI) to trivalent chromium was observed at pH < 1.0 and Dissolution of LiCl in the experimental solutions, increased the efficiency of adsorption, however, this effect was not observed in the case of KCl.
Journal ArticleDOI

Application of response surface methodology for optimization of peroxi-coagulation of textile dye solution using carbon nanotube-PTFE cathode.

TL;DR: Under the optimum conditions established, high decolorization (>95%) was experimentally obtained for BY2 and clearly showed that response surface methodology was one of the suitable methods to optimize the operating conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Peroxi-coagulation degradation of C.I. Basic Yellow 2 based on carbon-PTFE and carbon nanotube-PTFE electrodes as cathode

TL;DR: In this article, the electrochemical treatment of solutions containing C.I. Basic Yellow 2 (BY2) in aqueous solutions with carbon-PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and carbon nanotube (CNT)-pTFE electrodes as cathode has been studied.
