TL;DR: The number of primary and secondary schools also increased from 6,058 and 150 in 1963 to about 19,496 and 3,999 in 2003, respectively as mentioned in this paper, which may understate the extent of expansion in the education system since within the existing schools, expansion was in form of increased number of classes.

The labour market effects of globalization in Kenya

TL;DR: Using both industry-level and firm-level data, this article examined the effects of globalization on employment and earnings in the Kenyan manufacturing sector and found that less skilled workers experienced losses in earnings, and the inequality in earnings between skilled and unskilled workers increased during this period.
