Circulating microRNAs in sera correlate with soluble biomarkers of immune activation but do not predict mortality in ART treated individuals with HIV-1 infection : a case control study

Daniel D Murray, +1489 more
- 14 Oct 2015 -
TL;DR: No associations with mortality were found with any circulating miRNAs studied and these results cast doubt onto the effectiveness of circulating miRNA as early predictors of mortality or the major underlying diseases that contribute to mortality in participants treated for HIV-1 infection.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Neutralizing Monoclonal Antibody for Hospitalized Patients with Covid-19.

J D Lundgren, +48 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of neutralizing monoclonal antibody (YL-CoV555) on patients with Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transcriptional gene silencing of HIV-1 through promoter targeted RNA is highly specific

TL;DR: It is reported that shPromA induces sequence specific transcriptional silencing in HIV-1 infection in MOLT4 cells, while four shRNA variants, mismatched by 2-3 nucleotides, fail to suppress viral replication.
Journal ArticleDOI

miRNAs and HIV: unforeseen determinants of host-pathogen interaction.

TL;DR: Whether miRNAs may be used as novel biomarkers in serum and the potential to modulate miRNA levels as a unique approach to combating this pathogen are discussed.
