Journal ArticleDOI

Age-Specific Seroprevalence of Merkel Cell Polyomavirus, BK Virus, and JC Virus

TL;DR: An association between MCPyV seropositivity and MCC is found, and higher levels of serum M CPyV capsid antibodies in MCC patients than in controls, and the age-specific seroprevalence of MCPYV shares with previously known polyomaviruses, BKPyV and JC polyomvirus (JCPyv), evidence of widespread exposure in human populations beginning early in life.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis, selective anti-Helicobacter pylori activity, and cytotoxicity of novel N-substituted-2-oxo-2H-1-benzopyran-3-carboxamides.

TL;DR: N-substituted-3-carboxamido-coumarin derivatives were prepared and evaluated for selective antibacterial activity against 20 isolates of Helicobacter pylori clinical strains, including five metronidazole resistant ones.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and biological evaluation of novel 2,4-disubstituted-1,3-thiazoles as anti-Candida spp. agents

TL;DR: The results showed that the presence of heterocyclic or bicyclic rings on hydrazone moiety in position C2 of thiazole revealed a promising selective inhibitory activity especially against Candida albicans and Candida glabrata.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and in vitro selective anti-Helicobacter pylori activity of pyrazoline derivatives.

TL;DR: Among the prepared compounds those with an N1-acetyl group and a 4-methoxy substituent in the 5-phenyl ring showed the best activity against H. pylori metronidazole resistant strains in the 1-4 microg/mL MIC range.
