Journal ArticleDOI
Turbulence in More than Two and Less than Three Dimensions
TL;DR: A novel phenomenological scenario dominated by the splitting of the turbulent cascade emerges both from the theoretical analysis of passive scalar turbulence and from direct numerical simulations of Navier-Stokes turbulence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Noise prevents collapse of vlasov-poisson point charges
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of noise on the dynamics of point charges in a Vlasov-Poisson model driven by a singular bounded interaction force was investigated and it was shown that too simple noise does not impact the structure inherited from the deterministic case and cannot prevent the emergence of coalescence.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Kraichnan–Kazantsev Dynamo
Dario Vincenzi,Dario Vincenzi +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the dynamo effect generated by an incompressible, helicity-free flow drawn from the Kraichnan statistical ensemble was investigated and the quantum formalism introduced by Kazantsev was shown to yield the growth rate and the spatial structure of the magnetic field.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nonlinear elastic polymers in random flow
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated polymer stretching in random smooth flows in the framework of the FENE dumbbell model, where the advecting flow is Gaussian and short-correlated in time.
Journal ArticleDOI
An overview of the statistical properties of two-dimensional turbulence in fluids with particles, conducting fluids, fluids with polymer additives, binary-fluid mixtures, and superfluids
Rahul Pandit,Debarghya Banerjee,Akshay Bhatnagar,Marc Brachet,Anupam Gupta,Dhrubaditya Mitra,Nairita Pal,Prasad Perlekar,Samriddhi Sankar Ray,Vishwanath Shukla,Dario Vincenzi +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an overview of statistical properties of turbulence in 2D fluids is presented, including polymer additives, binary-fluid mixtures, and superfluids, and particles advected by 2D turbulent fluids.
