TL;DR: In this paper , the authors compared the risks for cardiovascular events in atrial fibrillation patients with and without pulmonary vein isolation (PVI), and found that patients in the PVI group had a lower incidence rate of all-cause mortality and hospital admission for acute heart failure compared to the non-PVI group.
