Applying the analytic hierarchy process to evaluation of the national nuclear R&D projects : The case of Korea

This paper deals with a decision-making problem of choosing the best of several alternatives, where the comparison among them is based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria. The method presented here is based on combining the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) and the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) methodologies, followed by a proposition to deal with a situation where more than one alternative turns out to be efficient. A real-life case is presented, which demonstrates how the comprehensive analysis developed here results in a decision that is different from the one that might be expected when just one common factor, such as cost, is considered.

Combining the AHP and DEA methodologies for selecting the best alternative

Wealth Management (WM) is an advanced type of financial planning that provides high net worth individuals (HNWI) and families with private financial services, such as asset management, banking, estate planning, investment management, and legal resources. The goal of WM is sustaining and growing long-term wealth of clients. Financial service providers in Europe and North America have been providing WM services for decades. However, it is only recently that some financial firms in emerging countries started to offer this service to their clients. To attract clients to adopt WM services, it is necessary to understand what influences consumers' decisions when selecting WM services.
