Journal ArticleDOI

Dormancy in temperate fruit trees in a global warming context: A review

TL;DR: A complete picture of dormancy is shown, using results from the early, pioneering work to the molecular basis, also emphasising dormancy modelling and measurement and their implication in temperate fruit production.
Journal ArticleDOI

Carotenoids from new apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) varieties and their relationship with flesh and skin color.

TL;DR: The carotenoid content was correlated with the color measurements, and the hue angle in both flesh and peel was the parameter with the best correlation that could be achieved by using a portable colorimeter, as a simple and easy method for field usage applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization and quantitation of phenolic compounds in new apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) varieties.

TL;DR: Thirty-seven apricot varieties, including four new releases (Rojo Pasión, Murciana, Selene, and Dorada) obtained from different crosses between apricOT varieties and three traditional Spanish cultivars, were separated according to flesh color into four groups: white, yellow, light orange, and orange.
Journal ArticleDOI

The fulfilment of chilling requirements and the adaptation of apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) in warm winter climates: An approach in Murcia (Spain) and the Western Cape (South Africa)

TL;DR: Adaptation in terms of the CR fulfilment of commercial apricot cultivars grown successfully in different climatic conditions is analyzed, concluding that CR differences higher than 50% can be found for clonal plant material grownsuccessfully in different Climatic conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inheritance of Flowering Time in Apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) and Analysis of Linked Quantitative Trait Loci (QTLs) using Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) Markers

TL;DR: A quantitative inheritance of flowering time in apricot with an influence of juvenility and environmental conditions (chill accumulation) on the evaluation and expression of this trait is indicated and the stability of the QTL described is discussed.
