Journal ArticleDOI

Long and very long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids of the n-6 series in rat seminiferous tubules. Active desaturation of 24:4n-6 to 24:5n-6 and concomitant formation of odd and even chain tetraenoic and pentaenoic fatty acids up to C32.

TL;DR: The detection of a series of unusual odd-chain tetraenoic and pentaenoic acids, also labeled with [U-14C]acetate, suggests that a PUFA chain shortening mechanism occurs in testis involving alpha- in addition to beta-oxidation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Suppressing a Charge Density Wave by Changing Dimensionality in the Ferecrystalline Compounds ([SnSe]1.15)1(VSe2)n with n = 1, 2, 3, 4

TL;DR: The transport properties suggest an abrupt change in electronic properties on increasing the thickness of the VSe2 layer beyond a single layer and the Hall coefficient increases dramatically starting at the onset of the charge density wave.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adjuvant Therapy for High Risk Localized Kidney Cancer: Emerging Evidence and Future Clinical Trials

TL;DR: There appears to be no role for traditional immunotherapy as adjuvant treatment in patients with high risk localized kidney cancer following surgical resection, and new trials evaluating immune checkpoint inhibitors are planned.
Journal ArticleDOI

The relationship between cooperative, competitive, and individualistic attitudes and differentiated aspects of self‐esteem1

TL;DR: In this article, the relationship between attitudes toward styles of social interdependence and ways of deriving self-esteem were investigated among 821 white, middle-class, secondary school students in a suburban community.
Journal ArticleDOI

Attitudes toward Interdependence among Persons and Psychological Health

TL;DR: An exploratory study was conducted to examine the relationship between attitudes toward cooperation, competition, and individualism and psychological health as indicated by the MMPI.
