Chemoradiation Followed by Surgery Compared With Chemoradiation Alone in Squamous Cancer of the Esophagus: FFCD 9102
Laurent Bedenne,Pierre Michel,Olivier Bouché,Chantal Milan,Christophe Mariette,Thierry Conroy,Denis Pezet,Bernard Roullet,Jean-François Seitz,Jean-Philippe Herr,Bernard Paillot,Patrick Arveux,Franck Bonnetain,Christine Binquet +13 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that, in patients with locally advanced thoracic esophageal cancers, especially epidermoid, who respond to chemoradiation, there is no benefit for the addition of surgery after cheMoradiation compared with the continuation of additional chemorADiation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical validation of the detection of KRAS and BRAF mutations from circulating tumor DNA
Alain R. Thierry,Florent Mouliere,Safia El Messaoudi,Caroline Mollevi,Evelyne Lopez-Crapez,Fanny Rolet,Brigitte Gillet,Céline Gongora,Pierre Déchelotte,Bruno Robert,Maguy Del Rio,Pierre-Jean Lamy,Frédéric Bibeau,Michelle Nouaille,Virginie Loriot,Anne Sophie Jarrousse,Franck Molina,Muriel Mathonnet,Denis Pezet,Marc Ychou +19 more
TL;DR: This study shows that liquid biopsy through cfDNA analysis could advantageously replace tumor-section analysis and expand the scope of personalized medicine for patients with cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gut microbiota imbalance and colorectal cancer.
Johan Gagnière,Jennifer Raisch,Julie Veziant,Nicolas Barnich,Richard Bonnet,Emmanuel Buc,Marie-Agnès Bringer,Denis Pezet,Mathilde Bonnet +8 more
TL;DR: The possible links between the bacterial microbiota and colorectal carcinogenesis are discussed, focusing on dysbiosis and the potential pro-carcinogenic properties of bacteria, such as genotoxicity and other virulence factors, inflammation, host defenses modulation, bacterial-derived metabolism, oxidative stress and anti-oxidative defenses modulation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surgery Alone Versus Chemoradiotherapy Followed by Surgery for Stage I and II Esophageal Cancer: Final Analysis of Randomized Controlled Phase III Trial FFCD 9901
Christophe Mariette,Laetitia Dahan,F. Mornex,Emilie Maillard,Pascal-Alexandre Thomas,Bernard Meunier,Valérie Boige,Denis Pezet,William B. Robb,Valérie Le Brun-Ly,Jean-François Bosset,Jean-Yves Mabrut,Jean-Pierre Triboulet,Laurent Bedenne,Jean-François Seitz +14 more
TL;DR: Compared with surgery alone, NCRT with cisplatin plus fluorouracil does not improve R0 resection rate or survival but enhances postoperative mortality in patients with stage I or II EC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hybrid Minimally Invasive Esophagectomy for Esophageal Cancer
Christophe Mariette,Sheraz R. Markar,Tienhan S. Dabakuyo-Yonli,Bernard Meunier,Denis Pezet,Denis Collet,Xavier B. D’Journo,Cécile Brigand,Thierry Perniceni,Nicolas Carrere,Jean-Yves Mabrut,Simon Msika,Frédérique Peschaud,Michel Prudhomme,Franck Bonnetain,Guillaume Piessen +15 more
TL;DR: It is found that hybrid minimally invasive esophagectomy resulted in a lower incidence of intraoperative and postoperative major complications, specifically pulmonary complications, than open esophageal cancer, without compromising overall and disease‐free survival over a period of 3 years.
