Cyberbullying perpetration and victimization among adolescents in Hong Kong

TL;DR: In this paper, the prevalence of cyberbullying in Hong Kong was explored using a sample of 1917 secondary adolescents from seven schools, five psychometric measures (self-efficacy, empathy level, feelings regarding a harmonious school, sense of belonging to the school, and psychosocial wellbeing) and five scales regarding bullying experiences (cyber-and traditional bullying perpetration and victimization; reactions to cyber bullying victimization).

TL;DR: It is argued that suppressive tactics, such as reprimanding bullies, calling parents to school, and suspension, are ineffective and adopting a comprehensive antibullying strategy such as assisting students to develop adequate self-competency, strong social skills, and good relationships with parents and teachers seems to be a useful antiviolence strategy.

The Overlap between School Bullying Perpetration and Victimization: Assessing the Psychological, Familial, and School Factors of Chinese Adolescents in Hong Kong

TL;DR: In this paper, a large sample of Hong Kong secondary school adolescents (N = 1,880) was used to investigate the overlap between bullying perpetration and victimization, and multivariate analyses confirmed the link between these two experiences.
