Nanoscale metal oxide-based heterojunctions for gas sensing: A review

TL;DR: In this paper, the dominant electronic and chemical mechanisms that influence the performance of metal-oxide-based resistive-type gas sensors are discussed, including p-n and n-n potential barrier manipulation, n-p-n response type inversions, spillover effects, synergistic catalytic behavior, and microstructure enhancement.
Journal ArticleDOI

Conduction mechanisms in SnO2 single-nanowire gas sensors: An impedance spectroscopy study

TL;DR: In this paper, the diameter of the nanowire is found to play a key role in the dominant conduction mechanism in single and multiple SnO 2 nanowires with impedance spectroscopy, and the contribution from the electrode-nanowire contact to the overall resistance changes with atmosphere and temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electrical characterization of semiconductor oxide-based gas sensors using impedance spectroscopy: A review

TL;DR: Schipani et al. as mentioned in this paper, Federico Schipani, Federico. Instituto de Investigaciones en Ciencia y Tecnologia de Materiales, Mar del Plata, Argentina.
