Pinuela,David C. Yates,Paul D. Mitcheson,Milos Mazanek,Vitezslav Pankrac +16 more
TL;DR: This paper aims to present WPT technology in an integrated way, addressing state-of-the-art and challenges, and to discuss future R&D perspectives summarizing recent activities in Europe.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic-based design of a tetra-band high-efficiency radio-frequency energy harvesting system
TL;DR: A novel compact, lightweight and highly efficient tetra-band rectenna, able to harvest RF energy from GSM 900, GSM 1800, UMTS and WiFi sources available in the ambient, and tested in terms of stored energy while harvesting from a mobile cell-phone call.
Journal ArticleDOI
Time-Modulation of Linear Arrays for Real-Time Reconfigurable Wireless Power Transmission
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a smart wireless power transmission method, based on a two-step procedure, exploiting real-time beaming of time-modulated arrays, for intentional wireless power transfer (WPT).
Journal ArticleDOI
HABITAT: An IoT Solution for Independent Elderly
Elena Borelli,Giacomo Paolini,Francesco Antoniazzi,Marina Barbiroli,Francesca Benassi,Federico Chesani,Lorenzo Chiari,Massimiliano Fantini,Franco Fuschini,Andrea Galassi,Gian Andrea Giacobone,Silvia Imbesi,Melissa Licciardello,Daniela Loreti,Michele Marchi,Diego Masotti,Paola Mello,Sabato Mellone,Giuseppe Mincolelli,Carla Raffaelli,Luca Roffia,Tullio Salmon Cinotti,Carlo Tacconi,Paola Tamburini,Marco Zoli,Alessandra Costanzo +25 more
TL;DR: A flexible and extensive digital platform for Smart Homes is presented, exploiting the most advanced technologies of the Internet of Things, such as Radio Frequency Identification, wearable electronics, Wireless Sensor Networks, and Artificial Intelligence.
Journal ArticleDOI
RF/baseband co-design of switching receivers for multiband microwave energy harvesting
TL;DR: In this article, a new integrated design of RF/Microwave receivers and conversion systems for energy harvesting to be adopted in ultra-low power density environments is presented, which can be very useful in typical humanized scenarios in the presence of existing wireless systems with power densities as low as a few μW/cm 2.
