Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of donor age, gender, and in vitro cellular aging on the phenotypic, functional, and molecular characteristics of mouse bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells.
Olga Katsara,Louisa G. Mahaira,Eleni G. Iliopoulou,Ardiana Moustaki,Aristidis Antsaklis,Dimitrios Loutradis,Konstantinos Stefanidis,Constantin N. Baxevanis,Michael Papamichail,Sonia A. Perez +9 more
TL;DR: There is a decline in the progenitor frequencies from the BM of adult mice, lower MSC frequencies in all female donors, and an increase in the BM-MSC proliferation rate upon in vitro propagation, which could support the extrinsic theory of aging of the MSC population and the potential implication of embryonic genes in adult stem cell physiology.
Journal ArticleDOI
The impact of infertility diagnosis on psychological status of women undergoing fertility treatment
Katerina Lykeridou,Kleanthi Gourounti,Anna Deltsidou,Dimitrios Loutradis,Grigorios Vaslamatzis +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a cross-sectional study was conducted to assess the impact of infertility diagnosis on infertile women's levels of anxiety, depression, and fertility-related stress.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hysterosalpingography and hysteroscopy in female infertility
TL;DR: The combined use of these techniques in infertility investigation gives complete and accurate information about the uterine cavity, despite the disadvantages of hysterosalpingography due to false positive and false negative results.
Journal ArticleDOI
Plasma Metabolomic Profiling Suggests Early Indications for Predisposition to Latent Insulin Resistance in Children Conceived by ICSI
Alexandra Gkourogianni,Ioanna Kosteria,Aristeidis G. Telonis,Alexandra Margeli,Emilia Mantzou,Maria Konsta,Dimitrios Loutradis,George Mastorakos,Ioannis Papassotiriou,Maria I. Klapa,Christina Kanaka-Gantenbein,George P. Chrousos +11 more
TL;DR: Data from the present study support that metabolomics may unravel metabolic differences before they become clinically or biochemically evident, underlining its utility in the ART research.
Journal ArticleDOI
Profiling of Discrete Gynecological Cancers Reveals Novel Transcriptional Modules and Common Features Shared by Other Cancer Types and Embryonic Stem Cells.
Kalliopi I. Pappa,Kalliopi I. Pappa,Alexander Polyzos,Jasmine Jacob-Hirsch,Ninette Amariglio,George Vlachos,Dimitrios Loutradis,Nicholas P. Anagnou,Nicholas P. Anagnou +8 more
TL;DR: Comprehensive comparative analysis of gynecological cancers profiles led to the identification of common features among cancer types, embryonic stem (ES) cells and the newly discovered cell population of squamocolumnar (SC) junction of the cervix, considered to host the early cancer events.
