Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation of trifluoromethyl and other perfluoroalkyl compounds with (perfluoroalkyl)trimethylsilanes

TL;DR: In this article, a variety of novel perfluoroalkyl-substituted compounds in high yields using easily prepared (perfluoralkyl)trimethylsilanes (1a-c) is described.
Journal ArticleDOI

A convenient preparation of sulfuryl chloride fluoride

TL;DR: In this article, the reaction of either ammonium fluoride or potassium fluoride with sulfuryl chloride in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid at ambient temperature was studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation of α,α-difluoroalkanesulfonic acids

TL;DR: In this article, the Modified Swarts reaction was used to transform trichloromethanesulfenamide into N,N-diethyl chlorodifluoromethane sulfonamide, and the latter species was further oxidized and hydrolyzed into CHS. The results showed that CHS is stable in the forms of sodium (lithium) salts or in aqueous solutions; however, the pure CHS can readily undergo defluorinations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation of 1,3-dithiolan-2-ylium Tetrafluoroborate and Its Reaction with Enol Trimethylsilyl Ethers

TL;DR: In this article, 1,3-Dithiolan-2,ylium tetrafluoroborate (2) has been prepared and is found to be a good C-alkylating agent for the β-1, 3-dithiolaniation of carbonyl compounds through their enol trimethylsilyl ethers.
