Extending the photon energy coverage of an x-ray self-seeding FEL via the reverse taper enhanced harmonic generation technique

TL;DR: In this article, a simple method is proposed to extend the photon energy range of a soft x-ray self-seeding free-electron laser (FEL) by using a normal monochromator to purify the FEL spectrum and provide a coherent seeding signal.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detection Capability Verification and Performance Test for the High Resolution Imaging Camera of China’s Tianwen-1 Mission

TL;DR: The results showed that the performance status of HiRIC meets the requirements of obtaining high resolution images on the Martian surface and proposals for HiRIC in-orbit imaging strategy and data processing are discussed to ensure the acquisition of high-quality HiRIC images, which is expected to serve as a powerful complementation to the current Mars high-resolution images.
Journal ArticleDOI

Intermediate band induced by p-block metalloid antimony in SnS2 for higher solar energy utilization

TL;DR: In this article, a simple approach to introduce the intermediate band through substituting tin by p-block metalloid antimony in SnS2 was proposed, and two absorption edges appeared at 2.31 eV and 1.63 eV in the visible light region, and one absorption shoulder starting at 0.68 eV emerged in the infrared region, as observed from the UV and NIR absorption spectra.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanically modulated dewetting by atomic force microscope for micro- and nano- droplet array fabrication.

TL;DR: It is shown in this paper it is possible to generate only one droplet per gridded area on a thin film subsequent to nucleation dominated dewetting on a non-patterned substrate when the grid periodicity exceeds the spinodal length, and the number of droplets in predefined areas gradually approaches that associated with unconfined deWetting.

Beam energy distribution influences on density modulation efficiency in seeded free-electron lasers

TL;DR: In this article, the dependences of high harmonic micro-bunching in the high gain harmonic generation (HGHG), echo-enabled harmonic generation and phase-merging enhanced harmonic generator (PEHG) schemes on the electron energy spread distribution are studied.
