TL;DR: In this article, the velocity fields and the associated tangential stresses corresponding to some helical flows of Oldroyd-B fluids between two infinite coaxial circular cylinders and within an infinite circular cylinder are determined in forms of series in terms of Bessel functions.
Abstract: In this study the velocity fields and the associated tangential stresses corresponding to some helical flows of Oldroyd-B fluids between two infinite coaxial circular cylinders and within an infinite circular cylinder are determined in forms of series in terms of Bessel functions. At time t = 0 the fluid is at rest and the motion is produced by the combined action of rotating and sliding cylinders. The solutions that have been obtained satisfy the governing differential equations and all imposed initial and boundary conditions. For λr = 0, λ = 0 or λr = λ = 0 they reduce to the similar solutions for a Maxwell, second grade or Newtonian fluid, respectively. Finally, for comparison, the velocity profiles corresponding to the four models are plotted for different values of t.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of the order of Caputo's time-fractional derivatives and of the external magnetic field on flow parameters of both blood and magnetic particles are studied, and numerical simulations and graphical illustrations are used to study the influence of the fractional parameter α, Reynolds number and Hartmann number on the fluid and particles velocity.

TL;DR: In this article, the Fourier sine and Laplace transforms were used to obtain solutions for the velocity field and shear stresses of an incompressible generalized Oldroyd-B fluid induced by a constantly accelerating plate between two side walls perpendicular to the plate.
Abstract: The unsteady flow of an incompressible generalized Oldroyd-B fluid induced by a constantly accelerating plate between two side walls perpendicular to the plate has been studied using Fourier sine and Laplace transforms. The obtained solutions for the velocity field and shear stresses, written in terms of the generalized G and R functions, are presented as sum of the similar Newtonian solutions and the corresponding non-Newtonian contributions. For α = β = 1 and λ r → λ these solutions are going to the corresponding Newtonian solutions. Furthermore, the solutions for generalized Maxwell fluids as well as those for ordinary Oldroyd-B and Maxwell fluids, performing the same motion, are also obtained as limiting cases of our general solutions. In the absence of the side walls, namely when the distance between the two walls tends to infinity, the solutions corresponding to the motion over an infinite constantly accelerating plate are recovered. For λ r → 0 and β → 1, these solutions reduce to the known solutions from the literature. Finally, the effect of the material parameters on the velocity profile is spotlighted by means of the graphical illustrations.

TL;DR: The influence of magnetic field influence on unsteady free convection flow of a second grade fluid near an infinite vertical flat plate with ramped wall temperature embedded in a porous medium is studied.
Abstract: Magnetic field influence on unsteady free convection flow of a second grade fluid near an infinite vertical flat plate with ramped wall temperature embedded in a porous medium is studied. It has been observed that magnitude of velocity as well as skin friction in case of ramped temperature is quite less than the isothermal temperature. Some special cases namely: (i) second grade fluid in the absence of magnetic field and porous medium and (ii) Newtonian fluid in the presence of magnetic field and porous medium, performing the same motion are obtained. Finally, the influence of various parameters is graphically shown.

TL;DR: The boundary layer equations for plane, incompressible, and steady flow are described in this paper, where the boundary layer equation for plane incompressibility is defined in terms of boundary layers.
Abstract: The boundary layer equations for plane, incompressible, and steady flow are $$\matrix{ {u{{\partial u} \over {\partial x}} + v{{\partial u} \over {\partial y}} = - {1 \over \varrho }{{\partial p} \over {\partial x}} + v{{{\partial ^2}u} \over {\partial {y^2}}},} \cr {0 = {{\partial p} \over {\partial y}},} \cr {{{\partial u} \over {\partial x}} + {{\partial v} \over {\partial y}} = 0.} \cr }$$

TL;DR: In this article, the numerical approximation of fractional differentiation based on the Riemann-Liouville definition, from power-law kernel to generalized Mittag-Leffler-law via exponential-decay-law, is discussed.
Abstract: In the last decade, theoretical and applied studies were done in order to provide a suitable definition of fractional derivative, which meets all the requirement of a derivative in its primary sense. It was concluded by some eminent researchers that the Riemann-Liouville version was the most suitable. However, many numerical approximation of fractional derivative were done with Caputo version. This paper addresses the numerical approximation of fractional differentiation based on the Riemann-Liouville definition, from power-law kernel to generalized Mittag-Leffler-law via exponential-decay-law.
