TL;DR: This presentation addresses the problem of specifying tests to check the correct working of a service implementation, and performs an experiment to use existing test generation tools (designed for protocol testing) for service test generation.
Abstract: This presentation addresses the problem of specifying tests to check the correct working of a service implementation. The correct working should cover testing the correct functional behaviour with respect to the user's perception, service management aspects, performance, billing aspects and interworking with other services and network elements. We performed an experiment to use existing test generation tools (designed for protocol testing) for service test generation. The results are promising in that the generated tests compare well to tests designed by service experts, while taking less time to develop and easier to maintain.

TL;DR: This work studies the use of model checking techniques for the generation of test sequences and demonstrates the method by applying it to a specification of an Intelligent Network with two features.
Abstract: We study the use of model checking techniques for the generation of test sequences. Given a formal model of the system to be tested, one can formulate test purposes. A model checker then derives test sequences that fulfill these test purposes. The method is demonstrated by applying it to a specification of an Intelligent Network with two features.
