Journal ArticleDOI

Characterisation of copper oxide nanoparticles for antimicrobial applications

TL;DR: The ability of CuO nanoparticles to reduce bacterial populations to zero was enhanced in the presence of sub-MBC concentrations of silver nanoparticles, suggesting release of ions may be required for optimum killing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Investigations into the efficacy of methyhlphosphonic acid functionalised 1,4,7-triazacyclononane ligands in bleaching catalysis

TL;DR: The systematic addition of chelating pendant arms, whilst tempering the activity of the complexes as bleaching catalysts, unfortunately does not provide a solution to the problem of dye and fabric damage.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stereoselective Diels–Alder reactions of 3-phosphonopropenoyl derivatives of 1,3-oxazolidin-2-ones

TL;DR: In this article, the crystal structures of the main cyclohexa-1,3-diene and 2,3dimethylbutadiene adducts formed during reactions in the presence of dialkylaluminium halides are consistent with a reaction, which is stereoselectively endo with respect to the carbonyl group and occurs on the less hindered face of the dienophile when aluminium is chelated between the two carbonyls groups.
