Synthesis and crystal growth of Cs 0.8 (FeSe 0.98 ) 2 :a new iron-based superconductor with T c = 27 K

TL;DR: The synthesis of large single crystals of a new FeSe layer superconductor Cs( 0.8)(FeSe(0.98))(2) is reported on, which shows a slightly lower superconducting transition temperature and the T(c) dependence on the anion height was found to be analogous to those reported for As-containing Fe superconductors and Fe(Se(1 - x)Ch(x)), where Ch = Te, S.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spin-state transition in LaCoO3: direct neutron spectroscopic evidence of excited magnetic states.

TL;DR: This work interprets an excitation in LaCoO3 as originating from a transition between thermally excited states located about 120 K above the ground state, and discusses the nature of the magnetic excited state in terms of intermediate-spin versus high-spin states.
Journal ArticleDOI

Direct observation of the spin texture in SmB6 as evidence of the topological Kondo insulator

TL;DR: These results provide strong evidence that SmB6 can host topological surface states in a bulk insulating gap stemming from the Kondo effect, which can serve as an ideal platform for investigating of the interplay between novel topological quantum states with emergent effects and competing orders induced by strongly correlated electrons.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and crystal growth of Cs0.8(FeSe0.98)2: a new iron-based superconductor with Tc=27K

TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of large single crystals of a new FeSe-layer superconductor Cs0.8(FeSe0.98)2 has been reported.
