Synthesis, structure and fluorescence of a zinc(ii) chelate complex with bis(2,4,7,8,9-pentamethyldipyrrolylmethen-3-yl)methane

TL;DR: The crystal structure and spectral properties of new Zn(ii) chelate complex with bis(2,4,7,8,9-pentamethyldipyrrolylmethen-3-yl)methane were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, 1H NMR, UV and IR spectroscopy; a sufficiently high quantum yield of fluorescence in nonpolar solvents, a longwavelength emission maximum and good photostability of the complex were demonstrated as mentioned in this paper.

BODIPY Conjugates as Functional Compounds for Medical Diagnostics and Treatment

TL;DR: BODIPY could act as a biomarker, but as therapeutic agent, which allows solving several problems at once-labeling or bioimaging and treatment based on the suppression of pathogenic microflora and cancer cells, which provides a huge potential for practical application of BODIPy conjugates in medicine.
