Correlative and integrated light and electron microscopy of in-resin GFP fluorescence, used to localise diacylglycerol in mammalian cells.

TL;DR: A protocol that preserves GFP and mCherry fluorescence in mammalian cells embedded in resin with electron contrast to reveal cellular ultrastructure is presented and it is shown, for the first time, that GFP is stable and active in resin sections in vacuo.
Journal ArticleDOI

What is the social licence to operate? Local perceptions of oil and gas projects in Russia’s Komi Republic and Sakhalin Island

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explore local perspectives on what constitutes a social licence and to better understand how a social license is established in a particular local context, concluding that the success of efforts to establish a social-licence that benefits all parties depends on local expectations and historical experience in particular socio-cultural and political contexts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Beyond extractivism and alternative cosmologies: Arctic communities and extractive industries in uncertain times

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explore the reality of living close to extractive industries in the Arctic; the expectations surrounding extractive projects; the nature of local and distributed benefits; and the extent to which local knowledge is incorporated into public debates.
Journal ArticleDOI

The complex I subunit NDUFA10 selectively rescues Drosophila pink1 mutants through a mechanism independent of mitophagy.

TL;DR: The results indicate that the in vivo rescue of pink1 mutants is due to restoring CI activity rather than promoting mitophagy, and support the emerging view that PINK1 plays a role in regulating CI activity separate from its role with Parkin inMitophagy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dialogue for Development: An Exploration of Relations between Oil and Gas Companies, Communities, and the State

TL;DR: In this paper, an overview of academic re-search and current practice relating to stakeholder dialogue around oil and gas development in the Russian North, Siberia and the Russian Far East is presented.
