TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the impact of fallen oil prices on the Nigeria economy and found that falling oil price has a significant effect on the Nigerian economy and has impacted negatively on it.
Abstract: Nigeria has substantially lost income from oil and has to fund the 2016 budget mainly from borrowed funds and perhaps from recovered loot. Thus, this study examined the impact of fallen oil prices on the Nigeria economy. The study relied deeply on secondary data. Materials and information were obtained from the CBN Annual Report and statement of Account, CBN Financial review, National Bureau of Statistics, Budget IT and Books and Annual Reports of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. The methods used in analyzing the data are simple regression analysis, Pearson Product Moment Correlation and Chi-Square to determine the effect and relationship between oil price (Independent Variable) and economic growth indicators such as Foreign exchange earnings, aggregate expenditure, budget servicing and public sector employment rate (dependent variables). The study found that fallen oil price has a significant effect on the Nigerian economy and has impacted negatively on it. The study among others recommend that diversification of Nigerian economy is most imperative given the economic recession in the country now. Keywords: Oil, Economy and Nigeria

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used a survey design to gather data from five hundred and two respondents who were owners/founders and top management of selected family businesses in southwestern Nigeria.
Abstract: Family businesses in many developing economies have continually been plagued with the issues of leadership tussle emanating from the owner-manager power. The study assesses the effect that leadership plays on the survivability (survival success) of family businesses in Nigeria. This study utilized a survey design, to gather data from five hundred and two respondents who were owners/founders and top management of selected family businesses in southwestern Nigeria. The data collected through the closed ended questionnaires were tested with linear regression at 0.05 level of significance. The finding revealed that leadership roles positively affect the long-run success of family businesses in Nigeria. Informed by this finding, the study concluded that there is a positive link between leadership method and survivability (i.e. survival) of family businesses in developing economy like Nigeria. The study advised that a new paradigm shift in leadership (i.e. adaptive type of leadership) should be considered by family businesses operating in Nigeria. This would ameliorate the owners-managers leadership tussle that derails many family businesses in Nigeria.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the relationship between job crafting and embeddedness of lecturers to their jobs and found that task crafting has a statistically significant positive relationship with employee job fit.
Abstract: The frequent turnover of academic instructors (lecturers) to other organizations and countries despite the autonomies their job offer them necessitated; this study aims to examine the relationship between job crafting (JC) and embeddedness of lecturers to their jobs.,A survey research design was adopted. This study is carried out in the south-east region of Nigeria. The population of the study consisted of 8,051 academic staff of six randomly selected public universities in the region and a sample size of 367 was determined using Krejcie and Morgan (1970) formula. The primary and secondary source of data were used in data collection and were analysed using regression analysis at a 5% level of significance.,Result revealed that task crafting has a statistically significant positive relationship with employee job fit (r = 0.949, R2 = 0.900, F = 2699.473, p-value < 0.05), that relational crafting has a statistically significant positive influence on employee links (r = 0.982, R2 = 0.964, F = 8112.281, p-value < 0.05) and that there is a statistically significant positive correlation between cognitive crafting and sacrifice links (r = 0.962, R2 = 0.926, F = 3729.900, p-value < 0.05).,This study’s practical implication is that it will aid in making academics in Nigeria embedded in their jobs by encouraging them to craft their jobs so as to give them more meaning. In the field of research, this study helps to close the literature gap existing in JC and the role it plays in embedding academics in their jobs, hence, opening up a whole new research area with empirical data to back it up. For management, the study will help in knowing how to appropriately harness the potential of JC in making employees more engaged in their jobs.,Many studies have been carried out in the past in areas of JC and employee performance, non to the best knowledge of the researchers has been extended to studying JC as it relates to the embeddedness of academics to their jobs in Nigeria, this study is, therefore, a new addition to academic literature in this area.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors argue that rational actors make their organizations increasingly similar as they try to change them, and describe three isomorphic processes-coercive, mimetic, and normative.
Abstract: What makes organizations so similar? We contend that the engine of rationalization and bureaucratization has moved from the competitive marketplace to the state and the professions. Once a set of organizations emerges as a field, a paradox arises: rational actors make their organizations increasingly similar as they try to change them. We describe three isomorphic processes-coercive, mimetic, and normative—leading to this outcome. We then specify hypotheses about the impact of resource centralization and dependency, goal ambiguity and technical uncertainty, and professionalization and structuration on isomorphic change. Finally, we suggest implications for theories of organizations and social change.

TL;DR: Rodrik et al. as mentioned in this paper opined that EU is a primjer uspjesne regionalne ekonomske integracije, ali u ovo krizno vrijeme pokazuje totalnu konfuziju oko odabira dvije od tri ponuđene opcije.
