TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the impact of gray marketing on the international distribution system and concluded that gray market has a very strong effect on the distribution system, causing dumping of good in certain target foreign markets and leading to non-realization of place utility objective by some global firms.
Abstract: The problem of gray markets has become one of the main concerns to many global marketing firms. Many of the distribution goals of today’s firms in the international arena have been thwarted by the activities and issues of gray marketing. This work, therefore, analyzes the incidence of gray markets in the international distribution system. The study is guided by the following objectives: to examine if gray marketing affects product defection as well as encourage increasing customers’ complaint; to examine the effects of gray markets activities on the availability of goods in certain part of the world; and to ascertain whether the realization of distribution objectives in the international marketing environment is affected by the incidence of gray market. To achieve the objectives spelled out, the study utilizes descriptive research. The questionnaire was the main research instrument that the study used to sift data from a sample of 50 respondents who were consumers. Based on the analyzed data, the following findings were made: that gray market affects product defection and hence, it leads to increasing customer complaints of certain product in the foreign markets; that gray market leads to negative availability of good in certain parts of the world; and that, gray market affects the realization of distribution goals and objectives of some organizations in international marketing environments. Guided by the findings, the study concludes that gray markets have a very strong effect on the international distribution Systems, causing dumping of good in certain target foreign markets and leading to non-realization of place utility objective by some global firms. The study recommends that gray markets should be minimized through utilization of internet technology, lowering costs to reliable distributors and as well ensuring effective selection of middlemen. Keywords: gray market, distribution, international systems and parallel importing.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effects of human capital development on employees performance in Nigeria public hospital and found out that the lack of articulate human capital strategy geared towards filling identified skills, knowledge and attitude gap were responsible for the meagre employeesperformance in Nigeria hospitals.
Abstract: The purpose of this investigation is to determine the effects of human capital development on employees performance in Nigeria public hospital. The challenges of employees performance in Nigeria public hospitals have persisted, regardless of the government effort on human capital development. The situation is made worst in that much prior studies on human capital development in Nigeria only focused on other sectors, with limited literature on human capital development in Nigeria public hospitals. In order to have a comprehensive insight on the issue of employees performance in Federal Medical Hospital in Nigeria, this study utilised the survey approach. Data collected from survey questionnaire were analysed and tested using t-statistics generated from the model formulated for the three hypotheses. The data collected were analysed using the linear regression statistical technique. Results indicated that human capital development activities in Nigeria hospital can be used to optimize employees performance. In particular, the study found out that the lacks of articulate human capital development strategy geared towards filling identified skills, knowledge and attitude gap were responsible for the meagre employeesperformance in Nigeria hospitals. Therefore, the study recommends specifically that for human capital development process to be successful in Nigeria hospitals, there is need for prearranged and integrated employees development strategy. This should involve career support, training on-the-job and off-the-job training programs that are tailored towards filling the identified skills, knowledge and attitude gaps in Nigeria public hospitals.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors argue that rational actors make their organizations increasingly similar as they try to change them, and describe three isomorphic processes-coercive, mimetic, and normative.
Abstract: What makes organizations so similar? We contend that the engine of rationalization and bureaucratization has moved from the competitive marketplace to the state and the professions. Once a set of organizations emerges as a field, a paradox arises: rational actors make their organizations increasingly similar as they try to change them. We describe three isomorphic processes-coercive, mimetic, and normative—leading to this outcome. We then specify hypotheses about the impact of resource centralization and dependency, goal ambiguity and technical uncertainty, and professionalization and structuration on isomorphic change. Finally, we suggest implications for theories of organizations and social change.

TL;DR: Rodrik et al. as mentioned in this paper opined that EU is a primjer uspjesne regionalne ekonomske integracije, ali u ovo krizno vrijeme pokazuje totalnu konfuziju oko odabira dvije od tri ponuđene opcije.
