Journal ArticleDOI
IL-31: A new link between T cells and pruritus in atopic skin inflammation
Enikö Sonkoly,Anja Müller,Antti Lauerma,Andor Pivarcsi,Hortensia Soto,Lajos Kemény,Harri Alenius,Marie-Caroline Dieu-Nosjean,Stephan Meller,Juliane Rieker,Martin Steinhoff,Thomas K. Hoffmann,Thomas Ruzicka,Albert Zlotnik,Bernhard Homey +14 more
TL;DR: The findings provide a new link among staphylococcal colonization, subsequent T-cell recruitment/activation, and pruritus induction in patients with atopic dermatitis, and show that IL-31 may represent a novel target for antipruritic drug development.
Journal ArticleDOI
MicroRNAs: novel regulators involved in the pathogenesis of psoriasis?
Enikö Sonkoly,Tianling Wei,Peter Janson,Annika Sääf,Lena Lundeberg,Maria Tengvall-Linder,Gunnar Norstedt,Harri Alenius,Bernhard Homey,Annika Scheynius,Mona Ståhle,Andor Pivarcsi +11 more
TL;DR: It is shown for the first time that psoriasis-affected skin has a specific microRNA expression profile when compared with healthy human skin or with another chronic inflammatory skin disease, atopic eczema.
Journal ArticleDOI
MicroRNAs and immunity: Novel players in the regulation of normal immune function and inflammation
TL;DR: The latest findings about the role of miRNAs in the development of the immune system and regulation of immune functions and inflammation are summarized.
Journal ArticleDOI
MiR-155 is overexpressed in patients with atopic dermatitis and modulates T-cell proliferative responses by targeting cytotoxic T lymphocyte–associated antigen 4
Enikö Sonkoly,Peter Janson,Marja-Leena Majuri,Terhi Savinko,Nanna Fyhrquist,Liv Eidsmo,Ning Xu,Florian Meisgen,Tianling Wei,Maria Bradley,Jan Stenvang,Sakari Kauppinen,Sakari Kauppinen,Harri Alenius,Antti Lauerma,Antti Lauerma,Bernhard Homey,Ola Winqvist,Mona Ståhle,Andor Pivarcsi,Andor Pivarcsi +20 more
TL;DR: In this article, the role of microRNAs in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis was explored by using TaqMan MicroRNA Low Density Arrays (LDAR) and quantifying miR-155 expression in tissues and cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
microRNAs in Inflammation
Enikö Sonkoly,Andor Pivarcsi +1 more
TL;DR: The current knowledge about miRNAs in immunity and inflammation is summarized, focusing on the recent results on microRNAs involved in the regulation of immune responses and inflammatory diseases.
