Abstract: We obtain the explicit distributions of motions governed by the telegraph equation (without drift) when a reflecting and an absorbing barrier is assumed. Special attention is devoted to the analysis of reflecting and absorbing motions when the initial velocities are fixed. As a by-product of our investigation we obtain the first-passage time distributions which are shown to converge to the corresponding distribution of Brownian motion.
