TL;DR: In this paper, a categorical theory of compactness and perfectness for topology with a subobject structure and a closure operator is proposed, which yields a number of classical results of general topology as special cases, including the product theorems by Tychonofi and Frol¶‡k, the existence of Stone{ • Cech compactiflcations, both for spaces and maps, and the Henriksen{Isbell characterization of perfect maps of TCH spaces.
Abstract: In a category with a subobject structure and a closure operator, we provide a categorical theory of compactness and perfectness which yields a number of classical results of general topology as special cases, including the product theorems by Tychonofi and Frol¶‡k, the existence of Stone{ • Cech compactiflcations, both for spaces and maps, and the Henriksen{Isbell characterization of perfect maps of Tychonofi spaces. Applications to other categories yield, among other things, an alternative proof for the productivity of categorically compact groups.

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the category CS of closure spaces is a topological category for epireflective subcategories of topological categories and a functor F A :X → X is defined.
Abstract: It is shown that the category CS of closure spaces is a topological category For each epireflective subcategory A of a topological category X a functor F A :X → X is defined and used to extend to the general case of topological categories some results given in [4], [5] and [10] for epireflective subcategories of the category Top of topological spaces

TL;DR: In this paper, a power operating system for opening and closing a vehicle liftgate has a pair of drive units supported on the vehicle roof and connected to the liftgate for operation.
Abstract: A power operating system for opening and closing a vehicle liftgate has a pair of drive units supported on the vehicle roof and connected to the liftgate for opening and closing the liftgate. Each drive unit includes a bracket that is secured to the vehicle body for supporting several parts including a reversible electric motor, a gear unit and a track. The electric motor drives a segmented sector inside the track via a gear reduction unit. The segmented sector includes an arcuate link that slides in an arcuate track portion of the track and a plurality of short sector links that are stored in a storage track portion when the liftgate is closed. The arcuate link has an outboard end that is pivotally connected to the liftgate to open and close the liftgate as the arcuate link is extended and retracted by the segmented rack.

TL;DR: In this paper, a tailgate is hinged to a passenger van type vehicle body above a substantially vertical rear access opening for swinging movement about a horizontal hinge axis, which is counterbalanced through its range of movement by spring devices and is opened and closed by a powered actuator mounted on a rear vehicle body pillar.
Abstract: A tailgate is hinged to a passenger van type vehicle body above a substantially vertical rear access opening for swinging movement about a horizontal hinge axis. The tailgate is counterbalanced through its range of movement by spring devices and is opened and closed by a powered actuator mounted on a rear vehicle body pillar. The actuator includes a reversible electric motor driving a worm shaft that drives a worm gear to pivot a crankarm about an axis parallel to the hinge axis. A roller mounted on the crankarm is received in a guide channel that is fixed to the tailgate and extends at right angles to the hinge axis with the pivoting movement of the crankarm thereby translated into swinging tailgate opening and closing movement. The motor is connected with torque sensing circuitry that detects an excessive motor torque demand when the tailgate encounters an obstacle and stops the motor. A normally engaged clutch maintains drive connection between the worm gear and the crankarm to effect normal tailgate opening and closing by the motor and slips to allow manually applied force on the tailgate to open and close same when the motor is not operating.
