TL;DR: The case history is sketched, Freud's interpretation of her neurosis is presented, and the important consequences of this classical case in the history of psychoanalysis for theory and technique are outlined.
Abstract: For many years, Freud treated a woman patient who meant very much to him and for whose treatment he made the most extraordinary sacrifices. He wrote down her case history, and he described her case in at least six articles. In addition, this woman played a major role in the conflict between Freud and Jung. This paper sketches the case history, presents Freud's interpretation of her neurosis, and outlines the important consequences of this classical case in the history of psychoanalysis for theory and technique.

Abstract: This paper focuses on the coming into being of psychoanalysis as a psychotherapeutic method and as a profession, covering the period from the 1890s until the foundation of the first training institute. This period is roughly divided into six phases: (1) Freud's first two pupils. (2) Freud's demonstration of his method on other colleagues that show that treatment and instruction were virtually indistinguishable. (3) The foundation of a private study and discussion group, without much impact on larger circles. (4) The Burgholzli clinic in Zurich became the main recruiting center for the nascent psychoanalytic movement. (5) In the early 1910s, a handful of psychoanalysts sought to have a first-hand experience of the method. (6) In 1920, the Berlin Institute was founded, introducing the tripartite training system that prevails to this day.

Abstract: This paper1 examines the short-lived flirtation between psychoanalysis and academia and psychiatry in Europe and the reasons for, and consequences of, the fact that their paths diverged. It is argued that Bleuler's break with the psychoanalytic movement is a crucial and, until now, largely underestimated turning point. Bleuler's separation from the psychoanalytic movement was probably more important for the course it has since taken than those of Adler, Stekel, or even Jung. Bleuler's analysis by correspondence by Freud, and its failure, was of paramount importance for the future relationship between Freud and Bleuler, and for Bleuler's assessment of psychoanalysis.

TL;DR: The Most Cursed Dilettante is a posthumous publication based on a manuscript originally written by Gabriele D'Aleo in 2013 and then edited by David I. Dickinson.
Abstract: Occultist, Scientist, Prophet, Charlatan - C. G. Jung has been called all these things and after decades of myth making, is one of the most misunderstood figures in Western intellectual history. This book is the first comprehensive study of the origins of his psychology, as well as providing a new account of the rise of modern psychology and psychotherapy. Based on a wealth of hitherto unknown archival materials it reconstructs the reception of Jung's work in the human sciences, and its impact on the social and intellectual history of the twentieth century. The book creates a basis for all future discussion of Jung, and opens new vistas on psychology today.
