TL;DR: In this article, the results of the administration of Mobile Phone Problem Use Scale (MPPUS) in a sample of 1044 university students were presented, and the main result achieved is that students do not think they make any problematic use of the smartphone, but there are indeed differences determining that it is women who are more predisposed to this as well as the younger students.
Por ello podemos concluir que el alumno universitario hoy se encuentra en un estadio de negacion de una conducta problematica EnglishThe use of the Smartphone is now a reality that cannot be denied, although repeated use of this can lead to development of problematic behaviour. This paper presents the results of the administration of Mobile Phone Problem Use Scale MPPUSS designed by Bianchi and Phillips (2005) in a sample of 1044 university students. The principal objective was to determine the degree of use of the mobile phone or Smartphone by university students, and to find out if its use indicates problematic conduct with this, the hypothesis being whether there were differences in the sample going by gender and age. The main result achieved is that students do not think they make any problematic use of the smartphone, but there are indeed differences determining that it is women who are more predisposed to this as well as the younger students. We can conclude from this that the university student today is in a stage of negation of problematic behaviour

TL;DR: In this paper, a confirmatory exploratory bivariate analysis to a sample of students (N=362) in grades Pre-primary Education, Primary Education, Social Educator, Education and Business Administration from the University of Cordova has been made.
Abstract: Internet has experienced in recent years an exponential evolution compared to the society growth. At the same time various problems from a different nature have emerged, associated with different tools created under its wing, such as social networks. One of those problems common to many digital resources is addiction. In order to determine the degree of addiction and problematic usage of youngsters to Internet, Young created the Internet Addiction Test. The purpose of this paper has been to validate whether the instrument, with the appropriate modifications (linguistic, cultural and adaptations to the working tool) can really and effectively measure the degree of addiction to social networks. Just to carry out this and following the guidelines of the work by Watters, Keefer, Kloosterman, Summerfeldt and Parker (2013), it has been studied whether this test is equally valid to measure addiction to social networks. For this it has been made a confirmatory exploratory bivariate analysis to a sample of students (N=362) in grades Pre-primary Education, Primary Education, Social Educator, Education and Business Administration from the University of Cordova. The preliminary result was positive, reflecting that this resource canbe used to determine the degree of addiction or problematic usage to both Internet and social networks.

TL;DR: The analysis of the open questions, provides guidelines for improving the use of the learning platform in distance higher education regarding strengths (student’s exchange, and independent learning) and weaknesses (feedback delay, and content repository).
Abstract: The aim of this study is to discover student’s perceptions from the School of Education about the use of the learning platform to improve educational process in distance higher education. To this end, a descriptive study with a mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative) has been applied according to the objectives of the study. An ad-hoc semi-structured questionnaire has been validated by experts, obtaining the response of 111 students of the Spanish National University of Distance Education (UNED), who are conducting social education, pedagogy, and master's degrees in education. The results showed positive values in the different dimensions analyzed: (I) Role of learning platform in distance education, (II) Instructional of the design learning platform, (III) Didactic interaction through the learning platform and (IV) The learning platform and professional practice. The analysis of the open questions, provides guidelines for improving the use of the learning platform in distance higher education regarding strengths (student’s exchange, and independent learning) and weaknesses (feedback delay, and content repository).

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored the relationship between problematic Internet use and risk factors such as impulsivity, and analyzed differences in intra and interpersonal conflicts associated to gender and age level, finding that low self-steem as well as cognitive and unplanned impulsivity predict with high likelihood maladaptive Internet use.
Abstract: Given the great increase in the use of new information and communication technologies (ICTs) in recent years by the youth collective, it is interesting to analyze the dysfunctional patterns and their addictive potential. The aim of this research is to explore the relationship between problematic Internet use and risk factors such as impulsivity, and to analyze differences in intra and interpersonal conflicts associated to gender and age level. 240 adolescents and young people (124 women and 116 men) aged between 15 and 22 years (X = 18,075; SD= 2.36) participated, all of them students of the Principality of Asturias (Spain). Problematic Internet use was found among 11.25 % of adolescents compared with 88.75 % showing a controlled use. No significant effects of gender and age were registered. It was found that low self-steem as well as cognitive and unplanned impulsivity predict with high likelihood maladaptive Internet use. Greater propensity to make quick decisions and showing more interest in making decisions for the present than for future increase the likelihood of higher scoring in interpersonal conflicts associated with problematic Internet use. The implications of these findings are discussed. Keywords: Problematic use, Internet, self-esteem, impulsiveness, teenagers.

TL;DR: A systematic review of literature in Spanish and Portuguese, from the period 2006-2018, focused on higher education, is presented in this article, where the authors identify the year of publication, countries of origin, purpose of the studies, type of article (theoretical or empirical studies) and level of analysis (macro-, meso- or micro-).
Abstract: This article is a systematic review of literature in Spanish and Portuguese, from the period 2006-2018, focused on Higher Education. The aim is to understand the way in which the concepts of “digital literacy” and “digital competence” appear in studies originating in south-western Europe, based on the model used by Spante, Hashemi, Lundin and Lagers (2018) for “digital literacy” and “digital competence”. The review identifies the year of publication, countries of origin, purpose of the studies, type of article (theoretical or empirical studies) and level of analysis (macro-, meso- or micro-). To verify the use of the concepts, the following schema is adapted and applied: (1) used without definition, (2) defined by reference of a political nature, (3) defined with reference to the research and to policy, (4) defined according to the research, (5) defined through discussion and / or development of the concepts. This gives an overview of the patterns in this context. We opted for a free to access database with wide Hispanic coverage (Dialnet), finding for the most part articles of Spanish origin and of an empirical nature. They predominantly feature work focused on educational changes, at micro level, with reference to the concepts of literacy and digital competence, within the framework of higher education, without presenting substantive definitions. In addition, the absence of a framework definition of the concepts of literacy and competence often leads to ambiguity, theoretical and practical inconsistency, as well as superficiality in the use of the concepts.
