TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the constraints faced by SMFIs, especially concerning raw materials and marketing, in taking advantage of domestic market opportunities, and propose alternative solutions to meet domestic market demand during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Abstract: The small and medium-sized food industry (SMFI) has a great opportunity to meet domestic market demand during the Covid-19 pandemic but there are various obstacles. This paper aims to present the constraints faced by SMFIs, especially concerning raw materials and marketing, in taking advantage of domestic market opportunities, and proposes alternative solutions. The study was conducted on four SMFIs that produce functional food in Malang Regency. Data were collected through in-depth interviews. The results showed that the demand for functional foods such as garlic, ginger, turmeric and fruits increased during the Covid-19 pandemic, which seemed to be related to public awareness about increasing immunity. However, the obstacles faced by SMFIs were the high price of raw materials due to limited supply, and limited marketing because they did not have distribution licenses from BPOM. Information about the process and BPOM’s distribution permit requirements was very limited for SMFI managers, and large capital was needed to fulfill the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practices. Therefore, SMFIs should have long-term cooperation with farmers to ensure the availability of raw materials; build networks and maintain cooperation with customers; and utilize credit for MSMEs in the economic recovery program provided by the government to meet the GMP requirements in BPOM’s distribution permit. The government should conduct intensive outreach to SMFI managers about the process and requirements for distribution permits from BPOM, credit facilities, and other policies related to economic recovery during the Covid-19 pandemic. Keywords: small and medium food industry, domestic market, Covid-19 pandemic, BPOM

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated and evaluated entrepreneurial learning models that are applied at the University in Indonesia (case: Universitas Ma Chung) and found that the entrepreneurship learning model which consist of six modules (1)"Developing Entrepreneurship Mindset", (2)"Idea Generation", (3)"Business Function", (4)"Legal Plan", (5)"Business Plan Preparation", and (6)"Business Growth") is deemed to be effective in inspiring and preparing students at Universitas MA Chung to be entrepreneurs.
Abstract: To boost the entrepreneurial culture in Indonesia, higher education institutions are encouraged to facilitate entrepreneurship in the curricula. In the last two decades, more and more universities in Indonesia adopt entrepreneurship education in their curriculum. The problem now is whether the entrepreneurship subjects at each university have been able to equip students with the ability to build and manage their own business, as well as to trigger students to create a business and not looking for a job after graduation. This study elaborates and evaluates entrepreneurial learning models that are applied at the University in Indonesia (case: Universitas Ma Chung). The evaluation result reveals that the entrepreneurship learning model which consist of six modules (1)"Developing Entrepreneurship Mindset", (2)"Idea Generation", (3)"Business Function", (4)"Legal Plan", (5)"Business Plan Preparation", and (6)"Business Growth" is deemed to be effective in inspiring and preparing students at Universitas Ma Chung to be entrepreneurs.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors analyzed students' acceptance of synchronous and asynchronous online learning by comparing the results of the two approaches that were used in educational institutions and found that the acceptance of asynchronous learning is influenced by the characteristics of the teachers, technological innovations, and the quality of the learning system.
Abstract: The phenomenon of the COVID-19 pandemic requires prevention actions, such as social and physical distancing. In education, there is no choice but to adapt to online learning from traditional face-to-face learning. Online learning is divided into two approaches, namely synchronous and asynchronous learning. In practice, both synchronous and asynchronous learning have their respective advantages and disadvantages that can affect the efficiency and the effectiveness of online learning that are felt by students. The present study has analyzed students’ acceptance of synchronous learning and asynchronous learning by comparing the results of the two approaches that were used in educational institutions. Data from 162 respondents in the synchronous and 147 asynchronous online learning surveys were obtained through distributing online questionnaires. The present research utilized multigroup partial least square-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) for data analysis. The results indicate that students’ acceptance of synchronous online learning is influenced by the characteristics of the teachers, technological innovations, and the quality of the learning system. At the same time, the teacher characteristics, the organizational and technical support, technological innovations, and the trust affect the acceptance of asynchronous online learning. The R2 that was generated from the two groups was 58 percent and 62 percent for synchronous and asynchronous learning, respectively. The managerial implications that can be implemented are also described here in order to assist institutions in increasing the acceptance of synchronous and asynchronous online learning for future online education.

TL;DR: In this paper, a metode kualitatif melaluifocus group discussion dengan instansi pemerintah, yaitu Balai Besar Pengawas Obat and Makanan di Surabaya, Dinas Kesehatan Kota and Kabupaten Malang.

TL;DR: In this article, a convenience sample of 216 international higher education (IHE) students at a West Australian university revealed that demographic characteristics showed statistically significant differences in authentic souvenir attributes and intention to purchase.
Abstract: Retail tourism is a niche retail market of importance in Australia to both business and government with international students comprising a significant proportion of this market. A convenience sample of 216 international higher education (IHE) students at a West Australian university revealed that demographic characteristics showed statistically significant differences in authentic souvenir attributes and intention to purchase. Whilst female IHE students tend to buy arts, paintings or jewellery, IHE students from the Asian region tend to buy collectables or accessories. Older IHE students are more likely to purchase authentic souvenirs as gifts for other people. Overall, Australian souvenirs made in Australia were considered as being of high quality, expensive, authentic and prestigious compared with Australian souvenirs made elsewhere. Additionally, factor analysis showed that features influencing souvenir purchases could be grouped according to the four attributes of innovativeness, portability, symbolism and popularity.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper explored souvenir values under the influence of contemporary Chinese culture and identified three overarching souvenir value germane to modern Chinese culture, encompassed by sign value, meaningfulness, and hedonic value.
Abstract: This research explores souvenir values under the influence of contemporary Chinese culture. Taking Shanghai Disney as the study context, a total of 32 onsite interviews with Chinese visitors to Shanghai Disney were conducted. Based on the analysis of 246 pages of interview transcripts, this research identifies three overarching souvenir values germane to modern Chinese culture, encompassed by sign value, meaningfulness, and hedonic value. In addition, a list of seven other values are found to uniquely exist depending on the specific recipient of souvenirs. These are classified as family orientation, and knowledge and positive education for children; individuality, instrumental value, and conformity for oneself; and kindness, and trust and harmony for others. These values provide insightful explanations for Chinese consumers’ souvenir purchase behavior in contemporary Chinese society. Theoretical and managerial implications as well as directions for future research are discussed.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors identified and analyzed 31 articles concerning Indonesian entrepreneurship in higher education, searched through electronic database and international and national universities publications for the last ten-year period (2010-2019).
Abstract: Entrepreneurship education has become an important and fast-growing research area contributing to understanding and acknowledging global and national trends and developing future educational policies and actions. From the country’s perspective, the development of entrepreneurship education in Indonesia is relatively recent. This circumstance is reflected by the minimal amount of research in English language articles published in prominent journals, the uneven provision programs, and the lack of modern practices in teaching and learning entrepreneurship in higher education across the country. Due to those rationales, this study aims to serve as an initial proposition by mapping some current states concerning Indonesian entrepreneurship education programs’ provision, its common learning practices within the higher education context, and its relation to students’ entrepreneurial competencies, characteristics, and Indonesian entrepreneurs’ issues on entrepreneurship education. By using mapping literature methodology, this study has identified and analyzed 31 articles concerning Indonesian entrepreneurship in higher education, searched through electronic database and international and national universities publications for the last ten-year period (2010–2019). The results showed that major entrepreneurship education program provisions and implementation of contemporary entrepreneurship course contents and teaching methods in Indonesia are centralized in Java Island—Indonesia. Another notable finding is mentoring, the most recent and emerging entrepreneurial type in Indonesia to support more students’ learning engagement and independence, or education through entrepreneurship. The study’s findings could inform the Indonesian government, educators, researchers, and educational policymakers concerning the current circumstances of Indonesian entrepreneurship education and how to improve them in the future.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors report the urban toy design process as a result of the visual style transformation of Wayang Topeng Malang (WTM), one of the traditional arts in Malang, East Java, Indonesia.
Abstract: This article reports the urban toy design process as a result of the visual style transformation of Wayang Topeng Malang (WTM), one of the traditional arts in Malang, East Java, Indonesia. The visual style which has been acquired by ATUMICS method combines decorative elements on the headpiece (urna, sinom, and cula), the color of the mask, the expression of the mask with a humanoid body shape wearing an urban teenage fashion style. The team designed the looks of the character and discussed it with several stakeholders through focused group discussion (FGD), including performance art academics, WTM Artist, illustrators, and urban toys community in Malang. The FGD conducted twice. The first one is to choose the final design of the character, and the second one is to breakdown models/toy parts. This design process results in a 3D model of urban toy design that is expected to preserve local traditional culture.
