Journal ArticleDOI

Guidelines for acoustical measurements in churches

TL;DR: In this article, the results of experimental measurements deriving from previous acoustical surveys are statistically analyzed in order to better understand the spatial variation of acoustic parameters leading to the definition of a set of guidelines to standardize the choice of sources and receivers locations.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new approach to assessing the performance of noise indices in buildings

TL;DR: In this article, the results of a wide acoustic environment survey were presented, where sound pressure measurements were carried out in a group of offices and the measurements lasted for five minutes and the resulting noise spectra were used to calculate the most significant acoustic parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sound propagation and energy relations in churches.

TL;DR: A model previously proposed for a specific type of Romanesque churches was further refined taking into account the new findings and making some simplifications, and showed that strength, clarity, and center time can be predicted with reasonable accuracy.
Journal ArticleDOI

A comparative analysis of acoustic energy models for churches

TL;DR: Correlations between model parameters and major typological and architectural factors were found, leading to a classification that greatly simplifies parameter choice and shows that acoustic parameters can be predicted with reasonable accuracy provided that one of the specifically modified theories is used.
