TNK-Tissue Plasminogen Activator in Acute Myocardial Infarction Results of the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) 10A Dose-Ranging Trial
Christopher P. Cannon,Carolyn H. McCabe,C M Gibson,Magdi Ghali,Rafael F. Sequeira,George R. McKendall,J Breed,Nishit B. Modi,NL Fox,Russel Tracy,T W Love,Eugene Braunwald +11 more
TL;DR: The TIMI 10A trial was a Phase 1, dose-ranging pilot trial designed to evaluate the pharmacokinetics, safety, and efficacy of TNK-TPA in patients with acute myocardial infarction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transseptal left atrial puncture; new technique for the measurement of left atrial pressure in man.
TL;DR: A new method for the measurement of left atrial pressure in man was described, in 13 patients the interatrial septum was punctured by means of a flexible needle passed through a cardiac catheter which had been introduced from the saphenous vein.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relief of Angina Pectoris by Electrical Stimulation of the Carotid-Sinus Nerves
TL;DR: In the setting of severe coronary-artery disease, the ability of the coronary vascular bed to dilate is limited so that methods designed to decrease myocardial oxygen requirements may provide a more fruitful approach.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic Value of B-Type Natriuretic Peptides in Patients With Stable Coronary Artery Disease: The PEACE Trial
Torbjørn Omland,Torbjørn Omland,Marc S. Sabatine,Marc S. Sabatine,Kathleen A. Jablonski,Madeline Murguia Rice,Judith Hsia,Ragnhild Wergeland,Sverre Landaas,Jean L. Rouleau,Jean L. Rouleau,Michael J. Domanski,Christian Hall,Christian Hall,Marc A. Pfeffer,Marc A. Pfeffer,Eugene Braunwald,Eugene Braunwald,Peace Investigators +18 more
TL;DR: In low-risk patients with stable coronary artery disease and preserved ventricular function, BNPs provide strong and incremental prognostic information to traditional risk factors.
Journal ArticleDOI
New horizons in cardioprotection: recommendations from the 2010 National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute Workshop.

TL;DR: It was shown that myocardial enzyme elevation within the first 24 hours of surgery was associated with increasing mortality over the course of months to years, and this study confirms earlier reports that even small enzyme elevations after surgery are associated with worse long-term outcomes.
