TL;DR: In this article, an inquiry is made regarding the subjective components which make up the social dynamics of violence lived by adolescent students of 13 and 14 years of age, pupils of first year at a secondary school of the 7o Region in Chile, and it is sustained that the violence dynamics among peers, supposes two dominant rules which form part of the subculture of the school's adolescents: violence is normal; living together with one's peers means a permanent relationship among equals.
Abstract: An inquiry is being made regarding the subjective components which make up the social dynamics of violence lived by adolescent students of 13 and 14 years of age, pupils of first year at a Secondary School of the 7o Region in Chile. Techniques of qualitatives investigation are used in the compilation and the analysis of the information, complemented with the use of a questionnaire to a 243 students of the establishmet. Among the findings it is sustained that the violence dynamics among peers, supposes two dominant rules which form part of the subculture of the school’s adolescents: 1) Violence is normal; 2) Living together with one’s peers means a permanent relationship among equals. Generally the “symmetrical ideal” is a relevant fact to configurate the violence dynamics.

TL;DR: In this paper, Saavedra et al. trabajo con a group of 82 adultos mayores, with the finalidad of describir their niveles de calidad de vida auto percibidos and desarrollar a perfil of resiliencia.

TL;DR: In this paper, a metodologia utilizada for corte etnografica was used to analyze a set of practicas educativas of cuatro escuelas primarias in Chile.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors determine the magnitudes del comportamiento agresivo and identificar the distribucion del nivel de agresividad segun factores individuales, familiares, e institucionales, in varones of 10-12 anos of colegios municipalizados, particular-subvencionados and particular-pagados de Valparaiso.

TL;DR: A critical review of theoretical matrices that have been applied to analyze this phenomenon and defines constructs of violence that emerge and are reproduced in schools is presented in this article. But the main objective of this paper is to critically analyze studies on understanding school violence in the national educational context.
Abstract: The educational field has not remained indifferent to the democratic precepts prevailing in Chile over the last decades. In this context, the subject of school violence, upon transgressing said precepts, represents a problem that has generated significant interest among academics, the media and the general public. This topic, however, has been addressed with high levels of theoretical, conceptual and even empirical confusion. The main objective of this paper is to critically analyze studies on understanding school violence in the national educational context. This investigation conducts a critical review of theoretical matrices that have been applied to analyze this phenomenon and defines constructs of violence that emerge and are reproduced in schools. This study will be used to clarify this phenomenon, and simultaneously contribute to the field of research on the study of school violence in Chile.

TL;DR: In this paper, a historical analysis of educational psychology is presented, showing how this discipline, conditioned by the situation that allowed its origin in the late nineteenth century, participated strategically in the emergence of knowledge that legitimized school practice and established new government circuits for childhood.
Abstract: From the beginning, Educational Psychology had the objective of procuring tools to enhance the development of the educational practice. In this way, it offered knowledge to improve the students’ learning but also to discriminate those who presented difficulties of accommodation to the rhythms established by the school institution. From a historical analysis, this work will demonstrate how this discipline, conditioned by the situation that allowed its origin in the late nineteenth century, participated strategically in the emergence of a knowledge that legitimized school practice and established new government circuits for childhood. Following this, the perspectives that began to criticize the original paradigm of the discipline from the middle of the 20th century will be examined, exposing a certain naturalized pattern of psychological knowledge production in the school environment and thus promoting a contextual model that will take into account the broad characteristics of the teaching and learning process. Finally, it will be concluded that, in spite of the theoretical strength that these orientations have managed to distribute, the proliferation of psychological diagnosis in the school classrooms during the last decades, although protected under the argument of smoothing the borders between normal education and special education, would seem not only to eclipse and diminish the possibilities of the contextual model, but also to shake the traditional school structure and bear consequences of extreme importance for the current configuration of educational practice.
