Steven A. Webber,David C. Naftel,F. Jay Fricker,Pamela Olesnevich,Elizabeth D. Blume,Linda J. Addonizio,James K. Kirklin,Charles E. Canter +7 more
TL;DR: Advances in management should focus on strategies to protect the allograft as well as improved therapies for PTLD, which is an important cause of morbidity and mortality after organ transplantation.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: Long-term survival with good quality of life can be achieved after heart transplantation in childhood, though complications of immunosuppression remain common, and posttransplantation coronary artery disease is emerging as the main factor limiting long term graft and patient survival.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ventricular septal defect
TL;DR: Ventricular septal defects are best defined as representing the borders of the area of deficient ventricular septation, and an approach on this basis permits recognition of the clinically significant phenotypic variants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Safety and efficacy of pravastatin therapy for the prevention of hyperlipidemia in pediatric and adolescent cardiac transplant recipients
Matthew G Penson,F. Jay Fricker,Jeffrey R. Thompson,Kelli Harker,Barbara J Williams,Deborah A Kahler,Kenneth O. Schowengerdt +6 more
TL;DR: Pravastatin therapy is effective and safe when used in pediatric and adolescent cardiac transplant recipients and long-term studies are required to evaluate the effect of pravastin therapy on the incidence of accelerated coronary atherosclerosis in this population.
Journal ArticleDOI
